Is this the car he stuck ribbons on and gave to his wife?
Is this the car he stuck ribbons on and gave to his wife?
I know he had at the time two of the worlds most expensive cars. Given that he had a penchant for fast women and slow horses and treated income tax as optional I suspect he had to sell one to pay some debt or the other.
No
For a clue, try and find Sinderella online - yes, spelling is correct
I saw that! It was an adult panto with Jim Davidson as Buttons & Charlie as Baron Hardon & some ex page 3 girl as Sinderella. Was Charlies car used as the carriage? If it was I don't remember it in the version I saw (there were a few)
What happened to Charlie Drake's last car?
He was buried in it.
Up the theatre steps?
Tower Bridge as it was opening?
He's not one of those people who have driven up Mount Snowdon is he?
I can't spend hours cheating by trawling through YouTube!
Was it a hill of some kind that he shouldn't have been driving on, then, and he had to leave the car up there?
A castle or a folly of some kind?
( But if you're after which particular one... no idea! )
Neither a castle nor a folly... There is most likely one of these outside your house right now
What's outside my house?
Errr...
Garden wall
Pavement
Road
Disabled bay
Car
None of which I'd expect up a hill ( except the road but then there wouldn't be much point to the question??? )
Ski slope?
Nope...
Think what is carrying your ability to read this forum
Cables. Electric cables. Did he drive the car into a telegraph pole or a pylon or something like that?
Yes... Charlie Drake drove his car *UP* a telegraph pole!
When he was asked if he did it while drunk, he replied "'Cause I was f*****g p****d... Its bloody dangerous when sober!"
Your floor[/QUOT
The recovering alcoholic Jim had a hard time dealing with Charlie- he only gave him the gig because at the time Jim was head honcho at the showbiz masonic lodge & helped a 'mate' He was also from the Elephant too.
Open floor. Can't think of anything to ask right now...
