Correct, it passes through 22 countries, more than any other.

Portugal, Spain, France (Corsica), Italy, Vatican City, Montenegro (with 3′ to spare.), Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, North Korea, Japan, and the U.S.A.
