There is a current thread on "International Transport", about getting to Andorra by public transport.

The song, dating from 1962 (on the English-language music circuit) I Want To Go To Andorra -- what is the reason for that desire, as expressed in the song?

Trying for a hint: the song's lyric is bound up with the sentiment -- hard not to sympathise with -- that war is highly disagreeable, and best not engaged in.

Without disrespect to the seekers of inexpensive supplies of the commodity concerned; as per my earlier hint -- what most people would consider a more serious matter, is the theme.

End of the road hit here, I suspect. The song (by Pete Seeger) expresses pacifist sentiments -- of the wish-fulfilment kind, one feels. Reflects on how Andorra -- being a micro-state -- is correspondingly "micro" re matters of armed forces / defence: its "army" consists of a few volunteers for ceremonial doings, and its "military budget" (basically for fire / lights / noise stuff for the country's National Day) is strictly from voluntary donations. Hence the lines in the song, They spent four dollars and ninety cents / On armaments for their defence / Did you ever hear of such confidence? Andorra, hip hurrah ! The song expresses the wish that the superpowers might do likewise re things military ...

In 1965, nearly all of the county of Middlesex became part of Greater London. Staines and Sunbury-on-Thames became part of Surrey. Which other part of the county was also transferred to a neighbouring county and which former Middlesex village was later transferred to the County of Berkshire?

I think Potters Bar went to Hertfordshire.
