I remember hearing about this.

The episode said that spiders are not dangerous.

OK to say that in the UK but not Australia.

@xotGD has it.

The episode Mr Skinnylegs, learning how spiders are friends and not scary. Unless you are in Australia where they are out to kill you, your family and everyone you hold dear. So potentially encouraging small children to play with the Sydney Funnel Web they found in the garden probably isn't great.

I feel that Bill Bryson says it all: "... all those things that might hurt me, which in an Australian context is practically everything. It really is the most extraordinarily lethal country".

In what year (to the nearest 10) did the USA purchase Alaska from Russia?

I know the answer. Alaska is my favorite state. I have on 3 occasions been for the weekend to my buddies for a barbecue then back on the red eye. Travelled through 16 of its airports.

I will let someone else answer.

It was 1867, so the floor is yours...
Thank you! Believe the U.S. only paid an average couple of cents per acre for Alaska. What a bargain!

Anyhoo, the next question is...

In what year/season was the FA Cup Final first played in the month of April.

Clue: Match was played in London, but not necessarily at Wembley Stadium.

I suggest The Oval and say 1903

On a similar premise I say Crystal Palace and 1911.
Nope. The 1911 final was at the Crystal Palace (the 1911 replay was at Old Trafford) and both these matches were played in April, but that's not the venue (which was the Kennington Oval as mentioned upthread just now) or the year that the final was first played in April.

Another guess?

1901 was a glorious year for Tottenham Hotspur. Cameron, Smith and Brown, as the song goes, 3-1 against Sheffield United. That was the replay though.

It was indeed. First match at the Crystal Palace, replay at Bolton (Burnden Park). Again both matches played in April. But not the earliest year/season that the final has been played in April.

Memo to self: never take Chas'n'Dave as one's point of reference.

1897? Oval
Nope. 1897 final was at the Crystal Palace. Was played in April, but 1896-97 season wasn't the earliest ever FA Cup final to be played in April. Looking for another year, venue was Kennington and obviously earlier than 1897.

Would this be Ashley Cole? Not sure how many but he won the thing enough times with Arsenal and Chelsea.
