This is the Alvechurch/Oxford City tie. I don't quite remember the event in real time but it was one of those FA Cup facts dished out quite often each year - a poor man's Ronnie Radford story, if you will. I know they played a couple of ties at the two major Birmingham stadia as well as their own grounds too. Alvechurch eventually won the tie. I remember Jim Rosenthal talking about the series - he was a junior reporter for one of the Oxford papers at the time.

Joseph Haydn's String Quartet in C Major, Op.76, No.3 is a very recognisable piece classical of music.

Exactly right, well done. Colloquially known as the Emperor's Hymn and composed in 1797 for the Austrian monarchy, the piece was the national anthem until 1918. Germany then took over ownership of the anthem in 1922. The quartet is around 8 minutes long and, in my opinion, a very lovely piece of music when in its strings format.

Correct in all respects ! Atvar, from Turtledove's Worldwar series, is the war-leader of the reptilian aliens from Tau Ceti who seek to invade Earth, arriving in 1942. (His race are -- as alien conquerors wishing to subdue and enslave mankind, go -- rather humane and likeable; an IMO nice variation on the theme.)

The sought-for lady is also American, and also writes under a three-word name with a slightly French flavour; and essentially, on similar milieux to those of Le Guin's writing. She who is sought: is a prolific author, with several novel series under her belt; that featuring Miles Vorkosigan is probably her best-known and most-liked one.
