Tom, we have 4 drivers for it, all of whom are either away or working on the weekend. Now, do you want to try to convince them to drive it on the day? If so, be my guest!
The window can and will be boarded up for security of the loco and it has been found that that side of the cab requires refurbishment, which on our workload is likely to take up to 3/4 weeks.
Plus, it is not a gala, it is a normal running day with 37610 working the standard diesel diagram plus one.
Sorry I sound annoyed, but it's because I am. I have been trying my hardest to find any workaround possible to get 37314 running at the weekend and have not taken the decision lightly to stop it. And then to be told that a security and comfort measure "is a pretty poor reason for it to not run", it feels like I'm being kicked while I'm down!
I'll tell you what, why don't you go with 314, sit in the secondman's seat and get your face frozen by the winds at 25mph over Swithland Res. Doesn't sound good? No, thought not. And believe me, I've tried it, it's NOT pleasant!
So before you actually do something to help pres like that, keep your trap shut and let me get on with arranging work for the locos I work on.
