Thanks for the info,
They seem to be relying on people on low wages now who can withstand the year and then jump to 40k plus,

If your on similar cash now, I think anyone would struggle to survive a year

I'm on 26k now I'm happy to make big cutbacks for a year to then sit on 47k+ till i retire

What are the shifts like at HH?
Would imagine there are a lot of nights involved
Is it a set rest day pattern such as five day weekend every 3 weeks etc?

Cheers

That application forms was a nice change to fill in just didn't like the 7 unexpected questions at the end but they were not to bad

To answer some of the recurring questions:
The training scheme is open to individuals of all backgrounds, not limited to university graduates. The term Driver Graduates is simply the name given to the Freightliner driver training scheme.

The starting salary for trainees is 18k, rising to 23k on completion of traction training. Trainees then remain on this salary until they are passed out and can drive their first productive train, when salary increases to 47k.

We are recruiting for a number of depots, not just North East. These include Bristol, Crewe, Rugby, Peterborough, Dagenham and various depots in the North East, from Newcastle to Doncaster.

Hope this helps and answers a few of your questions.

And there you have it Ladies and Gentlemen..

HR departments do read these forums! ;)

Be careful what you post regarding recruitment processes and assessment centres etc and use common sense.

I've always said Freightliner must be a great company to work for with a HR dept second to none.

Ive just submitted mine but got a message on the screen upon submission saying "This web page has a redirect loop" now I cannot go back or get any history up. Anyone know if this is normal or have I just wasted the last 5 hours?

Popped my application in today, probably messed up on the physics questions but we'll wait and see. Good luck to all that apply!

Me neither, no account like First group, just a straightforward fill-it-in n send off, no way to access what you've sent afterwards or acknowledgement of receipt as yet.

Freightliner....Careers....Careers in the UK....Hiring now. On the right hand side of the screen it says log in. I can't remember what I did but I filled it in and now I have account options one of which is check status of applications. I've had to mail HR as I'm not spending another 3 hours or so doing it all again if I don't need to.

I think although their career site does have accounts, the graduate scheme has been given it's own site and application process to help with the high volume of applications so I don't think it would show if you do have an account
Good luck everyone who has applied and role on June

Correct - we have a separate site for our recruitment of Driver Graduates and so applications for this post will not show on the Freightliner website. As long as you submit your application and see the page confirming your submission, rest assured we have received it.

Kind Regards
HR

Freightliner HR, could you tell me what depots are being advertised under the North East please?

I think this is so refreshing that the relevant hr department for a vacancy is willing to occasionally post answers to questions appearing here. Apart from helping candidates it must save them a lot of time with repetitive phone calls and emails. Well done freightliner hr.

Post 66 on page 5 they give a short list of depots.

Aaron.

Doesn't really answer his question though ;)

Tyne, Wilton, Tees Port, Boulby, Ferryhill, York, Leeds and Ferrybridge are all 'between Newcastle and Doncaster' and all see their fare share of FL trains.

I would happily travel to any of those, but I'm not able to relocate. Does anyone know what sort of radius they would consider you for once you say you are not willing to relocate?

Usually 45-60 minutes maximum travel time from a depot has been asked for by other companies.
