If the car is not aquaplaning, the amount of water displaced should be about the same. The deeper tread tyres would probably displace less water by having more gaps for the water to fit within it.

Looks like the driver market is starting to fall into place, although not with quite the same ”bang” as in 2020. Reportedly, the reason for Mercedes delaying their own driver announcement was so that Alfa R. can announce Bottas during the Monza weekend.

Kimi Räikkönnen has tested positive for COVID-19. Alfa Romeo have reported that he is displaying no symptoms, so at least that’s good news.

Good to see Bottas has been signed on a multi-year contract. He’s a solid driver even if he (sadly) didn’t match up to Hamilton in the end.
I look forward to seeing who will fill the second Alfa and Williams seats.
Not a lot, but maybe enough for a tenth.
In any other team, at any other time he would be a #1 driver.

I haven't read that, but I assume this is referring to the case where a driver had the runs mid-race and an unsupecting superfan then wouldn't take no for an answer when offering to buy the overalls after the race in question for his collection...?

Nothing quite as serious. Piquet Sr. reportedly had a ”party trick” of being able to flatulate on demand; useful when a mechanic was busy working away between the driver’s legs…

Pity the regs probably wouldn't have allowed a hole in the drivers seat fitted to a duct (call it the F-duct) so the driver's wind could be used to help propel the car.
