Still better than david croft.
As long as Jonathan Legard doesn't find his way into that Channel 4 seat then i'm happy.

Has Toto confirmed staying on at Merc? Maybe C4 will have him in place of Ben next yearAs long as Jonathan Legard doesn't find his way into that Channel 4 seat then i'm happy.
Hamilton has to be a genuine contender for greatest driver of all time. Not only for his ability but the manner in which he has truly transcended the sport on a human level. Only Schumacher and (moreover) Senna could hold a candle to Hamilton in that regard.Hamilton is just too good.

Perez really deserves a seat at a top car next year.
Agreed. He deserves a top drive and red bull would be stupid to turn down his talent and sponsor money. I also think there's merit behind the 'Albon only has a drive because of his passport' theory as he's Thai and red bull (well Krating Daeng) is from Thailand. However his fate was probably sealed after his "They race me so hard" comments at the Eifel GP.If Perez doesn't take Albon's seat I'd be amazed tbh. Far too good of a driver to not be in F1
That Stroll pit stop call was one of the worst I have ever seen.
Listened to the GP while driving yesterday - even on the radio it was obvious the weather was trolling the teams and Pirelli. Hugely exciting and a fantastic race for Hamilton who didn't really seem in the running during the early stages.
I can't think of anyone who's done more for F1 in modern times than Hamilton. Incredible driver and the sort of ambassador the sport truly needed. My guess is he'll go for one more season and then exit stage-left.
Other than continue to win championships, what exactly has he done for F1 and what makes him an ambassador??
I would also say he has shown you can be a world champion without having to resort to dirty tricks; plus he has been honest and admitted when he has made mistakes. From his ascendance from go-karts to F1 which has inspired thousands to join motorsport, to being F1's only black driver - and using that as a platform to campaign for BLM, to becoming a UN ambassador and advocate for the widespread availability of education, to helping move motor-racing to a more carbon-neutral footing by forming his own X44 team in the Extreme E program. And he's also a bloody good driver who happens to have a consistent knack of winning world championships.
Do your research.

Cant really argue with any of that, but I do take issue with him exhorting us to give to children in need when he’s a tax exile

Double question marks at the end of your question were quite telling..I asked a simple question, you have put forward your argument but there was no need to be bitchy about it at the end there.
My understanding of it is that being contracted to a British based company he does pay significant Income Tax in the UK, and frankly if I had his money I probably wouldn't live in the UK most of the time either.Cant really argue with any of that, but I do take issue with him exhorting us to give to children in need when he’s a tax exile
I 100% agree.Hamilton has to be a genuine contender for greatest driver of all time. Not only for his ability but the manner in which he has truly transcended the sport on a human level. Only Schumacher and (moreover) Senna could hold a candle to Hamilton in that regard.
I'd definitely put Prost as one of the greatest, but the three names I mentioned were/are drivers whose names are, for better and for worse, more iconic than the Formula One name itself.I 100% agree.
The only thing I will say is that I think Prost should be up there with those 4. I think of all the greatest drivers Prost is arguably the most underated and is in with a strong shout of claiming he is the GOAT.
Yeah your definetely right. Its such a shame that Prost has almost been forgotten about. Senna, Schumacher and Hamilton transcend the sport like no one else.I'd definitely put Prost as one of the greatest, but the three names I mentioned were/are drivers whose names are, for better and for worse, more iconic than the Formula One name itself.
Outside of motorsport circles, Prost is rarely mentioned without Senna, unfair as it is. Senna is an icon in his own right for the humanitarian work that he was involved in in Brazil.
The only thing I will say with Senna is that I feel like his tragic death is what made him reach that transcending sport status.
No doubt in my mind that he is the greatest F1 driver of all time, and arguably the greatest sportsman of all time.
I also think there's merit behind the 'Albon only has a drive because of his passport' theory as he's Thai and red bull (well Krating Daeng) is from Thailand. However his fate was probably sealed after his "They race me so hard" comments at the Eifel GP.
There are ALWAYS dirty tricks in F1. I suppose they are only classed as cheating when caughtI would also say he has shown you can be a world champion without having to resort to dirty tricks; plus he has been honest and admitted when he has made mistakes.
Well of course, but if his tragic death hadn't happened i'm certain we'd still be talking about him in a similar manner for his incredible charity work. Then there would undoubtedly have been many more on track achievements, as great as he also was i'm pretty certain Schumacher wouldn't have got to 7 titles if Senna had still been around.
I seem to recall a situation where one driver who was in contention with another driver but was ahead of him, decided to deliberately take the other out so neither scored and the first driver won. Or have I misremembered?Juan Manuel Fangio, Jim Clark, Stirling Moss, Niki Lauda, Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna & Michael Schumacher might have something to say about that!
Not sure about that. He looked fast and racy last year. I think the pressure of being in a big team has proved too much for him along with trying to drive a car that doesn't work with his driving style but instead is all about the style used by Max Verstappen. He is a gonna.
