Highland League

Fort William 2...Brora Rangers 6

In this match between second-bottom and the second-top, Fort William actually took the lead in the first minute, but the player to remember this match for years to come was MacLean of Brora Rangers who scored all the six Brora Rangers goals.

No, because that didn't happen. The "shots on target" stat showed it best as 1-1.


We made it before Southampton (4-0!) on MOTD and I doubt this game was better than that one. And in case you think is because of us then we've been dead last 2 (3?) times.

Just wanted to add by the way that I went to our away at your place the season before last and as always it was a brilliant day out. Your staff and fans were very friendly as always.

While it may do, it is probably because these teams tend to have more people who are interested in their results, hence why they are put on in the 'better' slots (normally the first places).

It's all about demand. Whether you agree with it or not, there is more interest in these clubs and thus the BBC meet the demand by putting those games on in that order.

Although sometimes there are cracking teams which involve clubs that people may not normally take an interest in, and rightly they move 'up' the order.

I can only imagine that it was decided that it wasn't good enough to make the 'jump' - there are a variety of factors at play, as they touched on during the MOTD at 50 documentary recently.

As regards football fans and the rap they get on here I think I recently commented on a thread about people getting advance first tickets to avoid football fans. I was commenting that I was sat in first on my way to that Villa game. No one would know I was a football fan. People are ignorant and love massive generalisations.

England finished off their qualifying matches in great style. Under the management guidance of Mark Simpson, there has been a much better team ethic and a far better tactical awareness than was the case under the last year of Hope Powell's management.

Oldham draw again today after they draw 0-0 to Notts County, I happy that they didn't loses but is five draws already this season and our records this season is won 2 draw 5 lost 2, hopefully we can start winning game more then drawing them.

Only good thing about drawing these games is that we are now on 6 match unbeaten run and I'm sure this will continued next Saturday when we meet David team Scunthorpe.

They been some high scoring goal today, Accrington beat Northampton 5-4, MK Dons beat Crewe 6-1, Swindon beat Sheff Utd 5-2, Halifax won 5-0, Barnet beat Altrincham 5-0 (I'm sure someone on here wouldn't be happy with that scoreline) and they was big scoreline at Ewen Fields ground too.

I think defensive weaknesses were evident today. I'm not convinced of Rojo at the back one bit.

However (and I'm not at all surprised that nobody else has mentioned this), Clattenberg and his team were rather generous towards Leicester today. For their first goal, the ball looked out, even the poor quality still that was shown at half time seemed suggest that.

Leicester's first penalty was the result of two referring errors. Firstly, Vardy's barge on Rafael outside of the box was a foul, and then Rafael's 'response' inside the box was rather light contact. Put it this way - Even Jamie Carragher thought that the challenge outside the box was a foul and then the penalty was soft. And he's not exactly United's biggest fan....

Leicester's second penalty was, no question about it. By that point we had imploded defensively and it was immaterial by that point. Leicester did also go into the game with a good attitude throughout and that approach - with discipline where required - should seem them do well this season.

A lot of them had Manchester United players in their twitter pictures, there is a screenshot knocking around showing the worst of it.

I was watching the game on a 'totally legal' feed from a pub that may or not have been foreign coverage they showed many a replay of Rooney's abuse directed at Clattenburg clearly.

Clattenburg had a poor game overall no doubt about it but for many Manchester United fans to say it was them vs him then it's totally inaccurate.
