I have said it before and I will say it again. FFP is not there to promote financial fair play. It's there to keep the status quo. None of the big boys will ever be harmed by these regulations. And if they are given punitive sanctions they will be straight to court

The news about QPR and a future return to the Championship being possibly not allowed owing to a stated breach of the FFP regulations is something that I only caught the back end and I wonder if someone with a full story on this matter can be so kind as to clarify matters.

The football league are looking to punish them for breach of their financial FairPlay, with a fine of £54m. QPR refusing to pay. Football league can't pursue as they are not a member of the football league.

The football league are now saying they would refuse to allow them to be re-admitted in the future if the fine is unpaid,

I'm pretty sure if that was the outcome they would swiftly find the £54million required. Maybe 'Arry could open a few of his brown paper bags and cough up the money. Funny how all the clubs he touches (with the unfortunate exception of Spuds) all seem to get into financial difficulty. Not his fault of course. He isn't a wheeler dealer remember

Oldham draw 0-0 to Gillingham this afternoon in which I'm disappointed as we were better team and probably dessert to win the game, saying that 0-0 draw mean we are on run of four clean sheets in row (in all competition) not many teams in top 4 division can say they got record like that.

IMO whilst it wasnt brilliant performance for Liverpool, I wouldn't have said Villa played that well. They got 3 points though so fair enough

Not at the moment we aren't. I doubt you will read anything saying Liverpool were good tomorrow. I doubt you will read much saying Aston Villa were good either because they weren't. Would you like them to say Villa put in a vibrant attacking display because they didn't.

Where do you reckon a rather drab game should rank in the press and on the telly? How do you reckon Aston Villa playing badly and winning and Liverpool playing badly and loosing should be covered. If at all. If you had to show highlights of that game what would you show?

All the complaining in the world on this Football thread about the position of the match schedule on MOTD is a waste of time, as it will have no effect whatsoever upon that programme's schedulers, who will work to instructions from "on high" in the BBC establishment.
