If it was only regarded as a practice match, no-one is going to lose any sleep over whatever result was the outcome.

Defeats of the embarrassing type are not unknown at Manchester United, as in the 1995/6 season in the League Cup match at Old Trafford, the score was:-

Let's face it. Of those who were in the last England squad at the World Cup Finals and considering the pathetic performance by England in the three first round matches, that fact is something that any England player in that particular team squad would prefer not to be raised in any discussion. One might go so far to say that being called a member of the last England World Cup squad could well be construed as a form of insult...

When I was playing junior rugby, my age group team lost every game for 3 years from start of under 13s to end of under 15s. A local club with more attraction due to being much higher level poached our best players at the end of under 12s season.
Despite this losing run our team morale was high, and we all just went and enjoyed ourselves with no pressure.
We won the first game of under 16s and then went on a 8 match unbeaten run despite having an identical team. One of our wins was against a team who's group of lads our age had not lost a game in 3 years!
It will come, just when it comes is a different question.

I would say all four British teams should progress to knockout round but I think Chelsea may be only British team to finish top of their group.
