Maybe David Moyes didn't do so badly after all.......I don't recall seeing such a shambolic Man Utd defence as today.

Just goes to show how little Moyes did to remedy matters when he was manager, as many of the current failings show that he was not a strong enough personality.

With regard to the defence, Vidic, Ferdinand and Evra are no more and the young player Shaw in a full-back role to replace Evra that cost so much was injured before he had chance to play in these first two matches. What did Moyes do to remedy the back four situation when he was there. van Gaal is no fool and these two league matches in the English Premiership mean far more to him about team weaknesses than all the friendly pre-season matches that were played overseas when the results there could have led to a false sense of security. van Gaal did have the not inconsiderable matter of managing the Netherlands team in the World Cup Finals in the close season, but the difference there was he had a good defence which always adds more confidence to the midfield and strikers of the team.

Let us see what his chosen signings when made can go some way to remedying the chaotic state of affairs that currently prevail at Old Trafford.

Anyone reading this posting may well assume that I have some fondness for Manchester United, but my Hyde and my Oldham Athletic colours are well and truly nailed to my particular mast.

BTW, Leeds are a joke, and it's only gonna get worse

Here we go.

Aunt Beeb said:
Leeds: Massimo Cellino changed mind over sacking Dave Hockaday

Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino said he was poised to sack head coach Dave Hockaday after Saturday's defeat at Watford but changed his mind.

The 4-1 loss was Leeds' third defeat in four league matches and left them in 21st in the Championship.

Italian Cellino said he would be a "coward" to sack Hockaday, who is two months into a two-year contract.

"It's too simple to sack him," Cellino told BBC Leeds. "I am more responsible than him now."

...

I'm not sure the word "responsible" is appropriate for describing your owner. Even I am starting to feel sorry for you.

Just seen the Manchester United team sheet for the cup match against MK Dons tonight...Four in the team seem to have large squad numbers:-
36...Vermijl
37...Janko
38...Keane
41...James

An upset on the cards ?

Quite possibly... But most of it seems to be coming through the United team failing in their ability to actually pass!

Shame that MK Dons are getting so much publicity at the moment...

It's all part of the fun, we are playing Bradford away in the cup tomorrow. I'm already prepared for the defeat

Meanwhile Man Utd 1-0 down against MK Dons and one of the worst decisions I've ever seen not to give a penalty against Man Utd for a blatant Evans hand ball. Nothing changes does it! Evans moves his arm to stop the ball, incredible, simply incredible.

Ross McCormack scores his first goal for Fulham

Big price tag to live up too

Will Grigg scores his 2nd to put MK Dons 2-0 up against Man Utd

I don't understand why Man Utd have sign Angel Di Maria for £60M yet they still need very good defender and Midfield in their team? Surely they could buy two world class players for that should of money to boost the team.

I know how that feels :(

Yeah it's the reality of the situation. There is some good players at the club but I think we've brought in 11 since the window opened and its going to take time for them all the gel. Not withstanding all the other problems at the club.

I watched Villa on TV at the weekend, they looked decent enough. No major worries this season surely?

Celtic have finally been knock out of UCL as they lost 1-0 to NK Maribor (1-2 on Agg) Celtic will still be in euro as they will play in Europa league.

The cup can be a decent place to get them to gel although your manager may decide it's not worth it and not bother.

Too early to say really after 2 games.

Still not pleased with MK Don's getting so much notice out of this.

But, considering the side LVG sent out, it's hardly a surprise, is it?

By the way, how quiet is stadium:mk?

Oxford have just equalised at The Hawthorns, a goal that's been coming.

Meanwhile in Milton Keynes: 4-0 :o

Knowing shock result of night will probably be at Stadium MK but what about King Power Stadium as League two side Shrewsbury have just beating Leicester by 1-0 to reach third round of League Cup.

Wow MK Dons 4-0 Man Utd. :o

We are saying that it was a weak united, but several first teamers were playing, and the rest of the team were subs in the league matches. Lack of depth in team?

Van gaal hasn't helped the image by signing autographs at the end instead of sorting his team out.

Suppose being out of the cup will help the relegation battle.
