Clearly the consequences were too lightweight and not effective for last time.

Really if I have my way Serbia would be banned from international competitions organised by UEFA and FIFA for a good 4-5 years.

I don't think you can compare domestic to international teams, but both chants are equally unacceptable. Serbia have however been warned and fined in the past for racist chanting. Now some decisive action must be taken.

Personally, I'd say a 1-1 draw away to Poland, probably the hardest game in the group, is perfectly fine. Not a great performance, but it'll do. Still undefeated in qualifying.

But some players - and, IIRC, staff - did behave improperly, and if Serbia made an official complaint about that (even if it was a smokescreen) UEFA could not ignore it. Provocation is not an excuse. I would expect Serbia to receive a heavy punishment though.

I've just had a listen to the video on the BBC site (only the first 22 seconds of it though) - and to call it shameful would be to shower the home fans with praise. It's the worst chanting I've ever known and the worst thing of any description I've seen in the stands at any match since (at the very least) that West Ham v Millwall cup game a few seasons ago.

If you think that's bad you should have been around 20- 30 years ago in the UK and then you might have had something to moan about.

Remember Serbia does not have Western European Cultural " hang ups" about expressing their views on ethinicity. It's only twenty years since they were embroiled in a lethal civil war. You cannot expect them to develop as fast without time to adjust.

As I previously mentioned Liverpool and Man U Fans with their "Munich and Hillsborough" chants are no better. Or Celtic and Rangers with the religous angle.

"Monkey Chants" are no better or worse than the above examples.

Have you seen the prices of some of the women's matches? Barely £20 for a Season ticket! Outstanding value! And because the matches tend to be rather quiet, the chances of getting noticed and/or recognised by the players is that much higher...

If I lived in or near Liverpool I would buy myself a Season Ticket for the best team in the city (it's nice to know that Liverpool can't compete with us ) for next season as soon as they became available.

When you look at the cost of a visit to the Emirates using your season ticket, the prices of the Virgin Trains fares to London for those Arsenal supporters from "up north" who have been relocated as part of their companys' move up there would seem far more reasonable to them than to other rail users. Incidentally, what was the master plan by the England coaches that involved Ashley Cole requiring so much cover by other team players at his full-back position, which meant that those other players were taken away from their normal team duties.

If Ashley Cole is not good enough to command the position in which he is chosen to play in, it must be time to see if there are other players capable of representing England in that full-back position. It was embarrassing to see how his positional sense was so poor, which led to numerous attacks down that flank by Poland.
