When people start training and before they get uniform, is smart casual usually acceptable for those few days?
Smart casual on day one.
Travel light, if you can- you might find yourself lugging home your uniform at the end of the day.
If you get the opportunity to, try the basics on as soon as possible for sizing, and then you can take it back to swap while you'll have easy access to uniform. Once you're out in depot, railway procurement takes eons... Top tip- don't swap or give anything away unless you've already got a replacement, for the reason above.
Smart casual. Sturdy footwear. When people start training and before they get uniform, is smart casual usually acceptable for those few days?
Never really known that to happen at any TOC I've been at. It can just be quite slow to get a replacement if you send something back to get a different size.Leave any piece of equipment or uniform for 5 mins and its gone.
I'm sure your employer will advise you. But id safely assume yes. When you receive the uniform, is this then what you wear everyday at the training school?
Well that depends on your definition of work attire, doesn’t it?You're going to work. Wear work attire. Business wear.
