Welcome to the bus industry in 2019... Sadly that's how it is at all companies regardless of if they have Barbie, Sport Direct or Maroon liveried buses!
My employer must be the exception to the rule...

Is it possible to work out what the single fare for any journey is?
The £8 fare is if you buy on the app I’m sure.Well for the First Glasgow Airport Express service (service 500) the single fare is shown on their website as £8. Except that when you actually go to pay the driver you discover the fare is actually £8.50.

A child single is currently £1The child fare has rocketed up I see. From the current 70p to £1.10.
How do they justify a 57% increase??
To encourage people to use the app for faster boarding. Why the difference ?
A child single is currently £1
Nice to see that the fare increases which are minimal at best have went down well. Reading the replies on Twitter etc is hilarious. Anyone else feel like out of the companies in Glasgow, first are actually pretty reasonable price wise?
People forget what's happening politically in this country right now... It comes as no surprise prices are going up!
Yeah I keep seeing people say the buses should go public and I think deep down we all know that would be a disaster right now. They always refer to Edinburgh with Lothian but they get complaints by the second
I can assure you it’s a £1I've never seen a child pay £1 any time I've got the bus and that's almost every day...
Motherwell to Glasgow is £5.30yeah its definitely a £1 at the moment for child fares i also got caught out with this when on the bus with my cousin and he informed me the fare had gone up to a pound for kids a while back as regards to Glasgow City and Lanarkshire fares i fell foul of this a few months back due to being used to the city fares of £2.40 getting you from terminus to terminus as it were and when i got on a 255 at Hamilton i also put £2.40 in the driver i was travelling back to Glasgow then preceded to tell me that it would only get me as far as Bothwell and having never really travelled beyond the city boundary was told in no uncertain terms that i was trying it on and trying to bump him out of money but that if i had a city all day as i had said to go down and scan it once in the city boundary to which i told him i had never travelled out this way using a single fare i always get a network all day the only reason this was not the case this time was due to travelling on a Stuarts of Carluke bus on the way out and getting the first bus back but i hadnt donned on me til i got out to Motherwell that the City all day i had i couldnt use, despite that though he allowed me to travel and i got my city ticket scanned as i got into the boundary but to be honest as you say their fares arent always best clear, and just for the record the fare would have been £4.20 from Motherwell to Glasgow!

It’s because your travelling in two zones.Full stp or comma is needed , needed a break after reading that .
I paid £5.30 single from Hamilton to Glasgow . Is it because its First No 2 that the fares are different?
When I say major it’s not so much route changes but more vehicles being cut from PVR is what I’ve heard.
I wouldn't bet against the 38 group being cut in some way due to the amount of bunching and buses that can all appear at the same time, say the 38 down to every 15 mins with the 38B extended to Baillieston replacing the 38E, you would still have a frequent service from Giffnock to Alexandra Parade every 7/8 mins, but how much more frequency cuts can there be as not so long ago routes like the 10 & 57/57A were all 10 mins, then 12 mins and now 15 mins with the 34/34A also recently being cut.
Alexandra Parade for bunching up is horrific. Seen 2 38s, a 38B, a 38C and a 38E within 2mins yesterday there going the same way. I can see the 6 going every 12 mins and possibly another few small cuts like the 41, 61, 75 dropping down a frequency level. Surprised the 2 wasn't down to every 10mins tbh because even though it's now every 8mins they still bunch up a lot even with the route cut
The 38 should be looked at. In my opinion there is no need for the 38B. The Barlanark section is never busy. Back when it was the 42 I can’t remember it being that busy either. The core section of the route (ie Alexandra Parade) is where it gets busy. I would be thinking of getting rid of the 38B (baring in mind the 60/60A run that whole section up hallhill road up towards Barlanark. The 46 also goes round greenfield and the like and also cuts over Edinburgh Road where you have the 38E.
The 2 could be cut down to every 10 mins if they introduced deckers, failing that 8 mins is sufficient as it is just a constant flow of passengers from one end of the city to another so I wouldn’t be cutting that back anymore.
Previously touching on the 46 I would be really questioning whether it’s necessary to have this route. The 60/60A cover most of the shettleston end of the service and can’t imagine too many people use it to castlemilk. Most times I see it it’s empty or has very few passengers. Passengers that could be cascaded on to the 60/60A or the 2 respectfully.
I’ve noticed they’re moving pretty fast with the repainting of the E300s in particular the Scotstoun buses.

The problem with bunching on some routes is down to the running time. A lot of services have had journey time cut while the traffic has gotten worse. 38 is a prime example which simply doesn't have enough time on it, even when you have a journey that doesn't pick anyone up your struggling for time. It really needs sorting out!
The 38B is needed as its the only service from Greenfield and Springboig to city centre. Its also the only service on Warriston Street. The 38 should be looked at.
