It's basically the same on SE but they have already put some of more padded headrests in standard class.

Rowland's Macassar Oil was used as a hair-oil by men in Victorian and Edwardian times. Because it transferred from the head to the backs of chairs, the antimacassar was invented as a washable protector for chair-backs. It's one of those curious words where the brand-name survives long after the original product has disappeared

Desiros by a country mile for their build quality and timelessness and being exceptionally well bolted down and reliable.

The fact that I've spent most of the last 15 years using them on a regular basis and they've aged nowhere near as much as some much younger trains, tells you all you need to know.

Having only sampled the class 350 in Birmingham (there’s no electrostars here) I like the desiro’s acceleration noise but it has nothing on a 323!

Not quite, the first class seating in 450s and 458s is much better than standard class it is an upgrade.
