I think there's a blockade due early next year. I suppose there may be several bridges requiring track lowering that could be done then. The number of bridges undergoing major reconstruction seems a good deal less than we were expecting a year or so ago.
Does anyone know how many for sure. Remaining Candidates:- Clatkston, Maybe Church Road*, Fenwick Road A77, Burnfield Rd*, Shawhill, OB31 At The Masts and Thorntonhall are all the remaining ones. Thornliebank and Westerton Lane in the process of being removed

If you're asking about track lowering, then I don't know. Maybe lots need to be done.

If you're asking about works to the bridges themselves, then according to the list of bridges in post #2040 that I keep updated:

Clarkston Road requires parapet replacement, to take place next year.

Church Road required only parapet raising and has been completed.

Fenwick Road requires parapet modifications, 40 working days starting some time in the next 3 months

Burnfield Road required parapet modifications, has been completed

OB31 no info seen on what works required if any

I'm not sure where you mean by Shawhill. Was that meant to be part of the location of Burnfield Road or a separate bridge? Maybe a typo for Strawhill? Strawhill Road requires parapet works, to take place next year.

Yes it was in refrence to track lowering. Typo error STRAWHILL Rd indeed

It seems a fair guess that wherever there's an arched bridge that isn't being reconstructed, there will be track lowering - except possibly beyond Busby, where they could conceivably slew the single track to the middle, as happened at some bridges on the Borders line (except of course that there, there was no extant track to slew!). But some arched bridges beyond Busby have already been demolished, with or without replacement.

I brought up back in Post 1361 that Thorntonhall may well be a problem. You can’t lower or slue the track due to the station being there. No doubt all will be revealed.

Is the platform of full standard height? If it's on the low side, that might help a bit.

The bridge at Thorntonhall is to be reconstructed.
Thanks. Then roadworksscotland.org needs to be updated. It shows only overnight closures for 25 working days starting this autumn. Any other major omissions on that site?

A minor bit of progress, the ‘dangley bits’ have been fitted to the portal at Sutherland Drive.

We love to see it! Looks like they're using that portal as a Mid-Point Anchor (MPA); the catenary will be affixed either side of the boom and will be free to expand/contract either side. (Understandably this doesn't work for the contact wire.)
First time I've seen this arrangement in Scotland - it was plentiful on the MML but this is the first time I've seen SPL put one of these in north of the border.

I've just remembered the name of the website that has a national list, it's railwaycodes.org.uk, and this page says it should be, or was once planned to be, KB.

Presumably KB stands for Kilmarnock line Branch....or Kilbride Branch?
The East Kilbride line is surely coded KB as a branch off the line from Glasgow to Barrhead, which has code K. This K is part of an alphabetic sequence (with gaps) of lines radiating from Glasgow, and it seems to be a lucky accident that K is the first letter of Kilmarnock. I do not think B can stand for branch (nearly all lines are branches), and I would guess that it is just random, though I do not see why the code should not have been KA.

Equally, there's no reason that I know if why it had to be KA so why not take advantage of the coincidence?

Possibly saving A for Ayr if Kilmarnock-Barassie gets wired?
