Got bowled on the Sellafield - Carlisle working on Friday, although did get the morning one in to Barrow. At one point it looked as if it might have been cancelled as the 47 turned up with only abut 15 minutes to spare.

Still, gives me and excuse to go back over and get the 37 again.

Don't tell junglejames, you'll make his day!

Should have seen the groans of dispair when the southbound unit from Carlisle got to Sellafield. Personally I was too tired to care, anything getting me back to Carlisle after a 4am start was welcome.

Whilst it does make me laugh (mainly because I find the Brush/ EE rivalry stupid) im not totally heartless. I have a little bit of sympathy for the 37 followers, and im sorry for 142094 that he had to suffer premier traction:lol:

He's probably en-route Carlisle for 47810 in the morning as I type this! The rest of you have been warned...

Why travel over 300 miles each way for a couple of short hops that may or may not be behind a 47, when im heading up to Birmingham next weekend for the 37s to FW? (Someone likes both 37s and 47s) Locos are locos, and whilst 47s may be the best, Im too busy to make such a long journey just on the off chance I may see one. I have a kitchen to redo!!

I'll do a blog update in the morning. Just planning to see if I can get to Sellafield one afternoon this week.

I believe 409 is in the Wales area this week on an NR train of some sort, i suppose that leaves 423 in the equation, so if that goes belly up or needs an exam, there's always the risk of a 47 appearing

409 is playmate to 'Caroline'
47810 is keeping time nicely this morning...who needs a tractor ;)

I think all the DRS 37's have moved to Derby. Bloody loads of the things there this morning.

If you wanted a 47 on the Fort Bill line you should have booked one of 3 weekends in March.

Got a plan for Friday, although it'll see most of the afternoon stuck on 156s. Hopefully a 37 will be back on by then.

Hadnt seen them before. Anyway, reckon they would be expensive. Also, I dont just want a 47 to FW. I want a 47 on next weekends FW trip<D
Perhaps I should offer Spitfire £100 extra if they can guarentee it!

Not to worry though. There are some other good tours in March with 47s.
Now back on subject.

What is it with duff bashers these days? In the past they used to hide their perverted lights under various bushels, but now they seem not only to be proud of their filthy habit, but insist in rubbing everyone else's noses in it. There was a time when admitting to being a duff basher was not far up from being a sex offender, but now they appear to escapre censure (or at least expect to by trotting out stuff about 'reliability', as if that had anything to do with anything as far as enthusiasts are concerned). It really is most confusing. ;)

So what's on tomorrow?

Don't particularly want to make another trip across only to get a 47 again.
