I would be able to access the Asda store in Melksham too. I used to work there but the bus was a pain and the limited train service didn't help, I'd be able to do it now but I transferred to Trowbridge store 3 months ago. Would still visit the Melksham store as I like that store, and will be easier to reach now!

As for stock, I'm unsure where it comes from. Looking in OTT the first Westbury - Swindon unit (that seems to work the line all day from 7am) start's from P3, which is also when the Salisbury - Westbury service arrives (that used to, and might still do, carry the hire in SWT 158). The service finishes on Platform 1 at 2055, conveniently just before the Yeovil - Salisbury T&R.S.M.D SWT 159 arrives. I'm wondering if it is the SWT hire in 158 or if the unit comes from Westbury Carriage Sidings (The empty stock turns from here don't show in OTT). I'll probably go to Westbury one morning to see what does what.
Arrives Westbury attached to 06 03 ex Salisbury and after finishing at Westbury off 21 20 from Southampton attaches back to Salisbury on last SWT train from Bristol TM

Not much happening with the timetable out of Hull by the looks of it, but there is one quite unusual addition. Hull Trains are running an additional 2235 Doncaster-Hull calling at Selby, Howden and Brough. Apart from providing later connections from Doncaster itself, I can't quite see the purpose of this as it doesn't provide later connections from any principal stations (bar Sheffield, 20 mins later than at present). Connections from London, Newcastle and Southampton (via Birmingham) are missed by just a few minutes. How odd.

It is a Q path and only needed when HT run on a contingency timetable so nothing to read into with this.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense actually as it connects perfectly with the 2035 from KGX. Thanks for confirming! :)

According to this track access application, Greater Anglia will start calling their trains at Manea. As far as I can tell it's all of their services that will stop.

I do not have words to express how happy I am about this :D Manea is a big but isolated village, they should get some tasty passenger numbers from this.

When does this start? Dec 2013 or May 2014?

Will XC try to block it?

It is in the system from December 30th onwards:

Get rid of their own one. It's the only request stop they do and it would be simpler for them if they didn't have it.

Oh right, ok. I ask because Manea is still keeping it's XC service, as it is in their franchise terms as far as I can tell, and because when the 379s were introduce NXEA considered introducing an all stations Stansted Airport to Ely service, but XC vetoed it.

From what I can tell from Open Train Times the Virgin Trains 22:00 Euston to Manchester Piccadilly (currently the last EUS to MAN service M-F) will be no more and will terminate at Crewe instead. It seems like the 21:40 will be the last service to Manchester from London.

It might be soemthing to do with the fact that this service seems to be timed for a Voyager, and no VT voyagers go to Piccadilly, so it will overnight at Crewe CS instead.

The December timetables have not yet been published so anything on OTT is draft. You are definitely incorrect regarding the 21.40...

Good news for Manea. The village has doubled in size in twenty years and it will be good to see how numbers increase. May even attract more than nearby Whittlesea does. The local roads are not that good so having a decent train service will hopefully be attractive in taking cars off the road and so potentially improve local road safety.

It seems strange that the times only seem to be in the system from December 30th onwards, when the timetable change is on December 9th. I assume this is just a clerical error, and the Manea stops for these trains will be put into the system later.

Yeah, the timetables that are currently appearing on OTT are still in an incomplete phase. For instance look how many trains are running on Christmas Day on some routes. :P

The correct timetable should be finalized at t-minus 12 weeks (September 15).

Just has a look and Greater Anglia appear to be running a full service on Christmas Day :P

Christmas is done under STP so is a red herring in any discussion about the December base TT change.

Consultation with stakeholders ended last Friday for ATW, many errors have been picked up and passed on, It is my opinion OTT should have mentioned provisional on its pages, Geralds down route for example from Cardiff at 1716 is different in timetables 75 & 131, one shows BHX one does not, neither show 1st, so whats happening on Bank Holidays , I know Gerald wont run , but no sign of a BHO replacement in the consultation document pocket timetables.

I have the draft NR table 66 in front of me, and it definitely says the 2200 VT ex-Euston is to Crewe only. I don't have table 65, but there is nothing showing to Manchester after 2140 that stops at MKC or RUG.

This is the danger of open data being released before it is complete. My advice to anyone is not to get too excited at this stage about anything you may find strange. All schedules are first put in for the duration of the timetable period, and then cancelled off under STP arrangements for days like Christmas Day.

Of course you can get as excited about Manea calls as you like ;)

Same applies, Bank Holidays are STP so not reflected in the base WTT data.

Of course the LTP should be nailed down by now given STP will have been playing with it for a few months already!

It should have been nailed down pretty much at the offer to the TOCs months ago!

Yes, but that is just on that branch line, that has no impact on everywhere else.

It should have been, but with ATW for example changing some major services, it has to go out to stakeholders for consultation that's ORR rules ATW fell foul of this a couple of years ago & got ticked off for removing services on bank holidays without consultation.

For your train set maybe, not for everyone else, those that shifted will just move back.
