Day 4 saw Australia move onto 311 then Head finally fell to the bowling of Tongue with a score of 170 to his name. Carey was the next to go for 72 to Stokes then Inglis became another wicket for Tongue.
More quick success followed, as Carse took the wickets of both Cummins and Lyon in two balls and Archer had Boland caught and bowled to end the Australian second innings at 349 all out. Six wickets had fallen rather quicker than expected.
Australia have set England a target of 435 to win.

At least the overs (just about, if you take the extra half hour as part of the day's play nowadays) got bowled today - obviously a load of spin helps.

At least England made a respectable score of 352 from 102.5 overs in their second innings thanks to Smith (60), Jacks (47) and Carse (39 not out) from the middle and lower batsmen which no one really expected when the score was 194-6 and did not have the same late order collapse that Australia did in their second innings, when their last six wickets fell for less than 40 runs.
"Brutally murdered" gives the impression that Australia won by a three-figure run margin, when the truth was only a double-figure run margin.

It's more that despite all the bluster about Bazball it's 3-0.
It was questioned before the series on whether it would work on the larger Australian grounds and the answer is a very resounding no. It's no surprise the one ground where the pitch and field were most suited it worked better.

The better performance at Adelaide is more down to England getting used to local conditions, and starting to play with more patience. A shame that instead of proper warm up games, we used the first 2 Tests instead...
Overlooking the importance of warm-up games also means England didn't have a specialist spinner match-ready to be selected for an Adelaide test. Crazy not to play a specialist spinner there.

The pitch was flatter and shorter square boundaries at Adelaide.
Perth and Brisbane bigger boundaries and bouncier pitches.
Bazball was always going to get tested on conditions not suited for it

Our bowling has definitely improved as the series has gone on, in the Adelaide 2nd innings we finally started pitching it up more.
Crawley looked like a proper opener in Adelaide.

Its really just a Australian holiday with cricket getting in the way.
Given they like doing everything but cricket they can go for a ride on the Metro Tunnel.
Theyre the Essendon Football Club or Carlton Football Club of cricket at the moment.

I can tell your fellow countrymen are in town just by being at the pub.
The average English pubgoer has a look about them. Its the same look I saw when I was in the pubs on my trip a couple months back.
Asking for a taste sample of Carlton Draught is quite a choice. Then ordering a pint after it is even more something.
Its basically the same stuff you can get at a spoons!
The barmy army even have a merch stand set up at the pub across the road
As a side note I've reached 10 years as a member of dropped crowd catch club.

Ive ended up at the Duke of Wellington and its a good crowd full of poms.
And apparently the East Pakenham train Im on started at Waterloo judging by the english accents on the train.
As as side note 94k rocked up to day 1.
