In what Test Match playing countries would you say that statement above applies to?The standard of test cricket seems to have gone downhill since the 2000s.

All of them to some extent. In what Test Match playing countries would you say that statement above applies to?
T20 cricket can be blamed for that. All of them to some extent.
T20 cricket can be blamed for that.
At least England made a respectable score of 352 from 102.5 overs in their second innings thanks to Smith (60), Jacks (47) and Carse (39 not out) from the middle and lower batsmen which no one really expected when the score was 194-6 and did not have the same late order collapse that Australia did in their second innings, when their last six wickets fell for less than 40 runs.In remembrance of Bazball.
Brutally murdered by Australia at Adelaide Oval on the 21st day of December 2025.
It's more that despite all the bluster about Bazball it's 3-0.At least England made a respectable score of 352 from 102.5 overs in their second innings thanks to Smith (60), Jacks (47) and Carse (39 not out) from the middle and lower batsmen which no one really expected when the score was 194-6 and did not have the same late order collapse that Australia did in their second innings, when their last six wickets fell for less than 40 runs.
"Brutally murdered" gives the impression that Australia won by a three-figure run margin, when the truth was only a double-figure run margin.
Overlooking the importance of warm-up games also means England didn't have a specialist spinner match-ready to be selected for an Adelaide test. Crazy not to play a specialist spinner there. The better performance at Adelaide is more down to England getting used to local conditions, and starting to play with more patience. A shame that instead of proper warm up games, we used the first 2 Tests instead...

Bashir is in the squad as a specialist spinner, yes?Who did you have in mind?
The pitch was flatter and shorter square boundaries at Adelaide. The better performance at Adelaide is more down to England getting used to local conditions, and starting to play with more patience. A shame that instead of proper warm up games, we used the first 2 Tests instead...
Our bowling has definitely improved as the series has gone on, in the Adelaide 2nd innings we finally started pitching it up more. The pitch was flatter and shorter square boundaries at Adelaide.
Perth and Brisbane bigger boundaries and bouncier pitches.
Bazball was always going to get tested on conditions not suited for it
Well done to the Eye for brightening my morning.TV HIGHLIGHTS
I'm A Cricketer, Get Me Out For A Duck!
Sky Sports 4am
Climax of the reality TV show in which celebrity England cricketers are stranded in Australia in unfriendly conditions and tasked to perform several humiliating 'tests', including batting, bowling and catching the ball occasionally. Viewers however have complained that this series is becoming too predictable, especially after top celebrity cricketer Ben 'Angry Ginge' Stokes was forced to eat a disgusting slice of humble pie before being dismissed from the Gabbatoir.
EYE RATING: Drop everything to watch the Aussies having a bazball of a time!
Private Eye magazine famously doesn't have an online edition, so I can't provide a link, but I hope it's not too problematic for copyright if I transcribe a piece which amused me a lot amid all the gloom coming out of Adelaide.
Well done to the Eye for brightening my morning.
NZ's first innings in that game was something.International Test Match Series
New Zealand.....575-8dec and 306-2dec
West Indies......420 and 138
New Zealand win by 323 runs. Now that's what I call a proper Test Match winning margin.
20 percent what? Drunk?According to Rob Key England have been at 20% in this ashes series.
I think he missed the decimal point out!
Ben Duckett best on ground going off that footageAnd if you believe what's written, permanently clattered on the tour. Unforgivable if true.
A silly public school boy jolly outing with the media looking after their matesIts really just a Australian holiday with cricket getting in the way.
Given they like doing everything but cricket they can go for a ride on the Metro Tunnel.
You do have to wonder how rotten the culture is within that camp at the moment.A silly public school boy jolly outing with the media looking after their mates
Two notable bowling returns....one by each side....Australia all out for 152
England all out for 110.
You got close to 1964 lows apparentlyTwo notable bowling returns....one by each side....
Tongue ... 11.2 - 2 - 45 - 5
Neser .....10 - 1 - 45 - 4
When England were 16-4, I had visions of a less-than 50 all out total.
