Nice to see another IPL fan, everyone seems to hate it over here! Tbh I can understand why, there are certain things that annoy me (the lack of actual cricket shots from Gayle and the cheerleaders bug me the most)

Noooo. Danny Morrison is good for a sense of the ridiculous... (probably not the right word!)The commentators pee me off because they never seem to be watching the same game as me! Harsha Bhogle and Bish are ok; the rest are awful. And Danny Morrisson wants hanging from a lamppost.
Cricket Collier reveals IPL talksLast Updated: Tue, 09 Apr 2013 13:08
ECB chief executive David Collier says the IPL could be moved to fit in with the County season after "fruitful" talks with organisers.
"We have had very fruitful talks with India. In an ideal world, we would like the IPL to be concluded by April 30, which is the cooler season for India," he said. "We have put that to them, they are doing their best, but they realise there are some limitations.
"It would make things a lot easier for us. We still have to get the workload balance right, but it would make it a lot easier for our players to be available for that period and certainly the BCCI are fully aware of that.
"There is a willingness on the part of both boards to see if we can make any progress."
A ten wicket defeat for Notts was "uncharacteristic" this early on...traditionally good starters through April and May they were left wondering how they failed to get more from the match. Not helped by umpiring decisions going against them causing some heated discussions. A decent knock for a couple of the lads wasn't enough to stem the punishment dished out by the Middlesex batting order. Still it's onwards and upwards from here.
After Lancashire's last seasons very poor middle-of-the-order batting performances, that certainly saw a team who had won the first division title the previous year go straight into relegation mode in one season, it was interesting to see that in the rain-affected first match in the second division, out of a total of 448-7 declared, the two overseas players of Ashwell Prince (95) and Simon Katich (84) put on a fourth-wicket stand of 181 runs.

Nottinghamshire 396-3 dec and 408-9 dec
Durham MCCU 142 and 121
Nottinghamshire won by 541 runs.
In death as in life, unremarkable and low profile. Not really top draw as a batsman or captain, but did a job. Nice man.Quite surprised that the death of Mike Denness hasn't been mentioned on the Forum.

Quite a dramatic turn of events on the final day, as Durham slumped from their overnight second innings total of 11-1 to 37-6 in very short time against Warwickshire and finally were all out for 94, with Chris Wright taking 6-31. Warwickshire won by 318 runs.

Chris Gayle, take a bow! Fastest century ever (according to the BBC Sport headline) eventually ending up with 175 not out from just 67 deliveries!

He reached his century in only 30 balls...hock:
In his 175 not out, there were 17 x 6 and 13 x 4, so 154 runs came from boundaries.
Lancashire's tail wagged to some effect in their second innings against Glamorgan at Colwyn Bay to amass 272, leaving Glamorgan 154 to win, of which they have already scored 52-1 from only 11 overs.
Glamorgan playing home matches at Colwyn Bay ? Will Lancashire now play some of their matches at Dumfries ?......![]()
...and the Glamorgan tail did whatever the opposite of wagged is, so Lancashire actually won.![]()
Amazing...Glamorgan all out for 139. I hope Lancashire take heart from this. It was one of the very few matches they had Jimmy Anderson playing for them.

I may be wrong here but I think the reason why Glamorgan play Lancs at Colwyn Bay was due to the fact they are the "Welsh" team and before they had a base in Cardiff they toured Wales with Colwyn Bay always being used for matches with Lancs and because it was one of the well attended matches the Glamorgan board decided to keep the fixture there all the time.
