Could do (a lot) worse. Zak is very hit and miss, but does have the ability to score very big, very quickly, while Ben Duckett is 1 of 3 England players to have scored 1000 test runs in 2024.

The Day/Night test at the oval has hit stumps on a rather wild day.
India were bowled out for 180 with Starc taking 6 wickets.
Australia had to face the tricky dusk/nighttime making it to stumps with only the loss of 1 wicket. The night session was rather memorable. The main lights of Adelaide oval failed twice and some idiot with a beer snake walked through the sightscreen annoying Siraj.

It is very hard to bat under the dusk/nighttime.
I am absolutely baffled why some people have downer on Ben Duckett.
He has been excellent since establishing a regular place in the England team since maturing his game domestically and he averages 40 in Tests.
His scores this winter in Tests have been:
84
114 & 0
52 & 12
46 & 27
Then 0 in this game so far.
Prior to setting off overseas, in the ODI series v Australia, he scored 95, 32, 8, 63 and 107.
