We next move to England for the next journey.....

This is number 932 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Wigston Magna
It follows the line of the Midland Railway Main Line
It then follows the line of the Kettering, Thrapstone and Huntingdon Railway
It then follows the line of the Great Northern Railway Main Line
It then follows the line of the Northampton and Peterborough Railway
It then follows the line of the LNWR Northampton to Market Harborough Line
It then follows the line of the GNR Leicester to Peterborough Line
The journey ends at the closed station of Nassington

The first closed station on this journey is Wigston Magna

Assuming we reversed to access the Northampton and Peterborough, should not Peterborough East have featured.

Following Castor we arrive at Nassington

This is the danger of NOT looking at the journey preamble which states the lines to be traversed, as after the Great Northern Railway heading northwards, the following lines are to be traversed:-
Northampton and Peterborough Railway
LNWR Northampton to Market Harborough Line
GNR Leicester to Peterborough Line

THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME IN THE LAST 72 HOURS THAT i HAVE HAD TO REMIND ALL CONTRIBUTORS OF THE NECESSITY OF FOLLOWING WHAT HAS BEEN STATED IN A JOURNEY PREAMBLE.

But to get from the GN at Peterborough North onto the line to Northampton, a train would have to go via Peterborough East, there is no other connection.

I was NOT questioning the need to call at Peterborough East.

It was this statement shown above that caused me to highlight the need to follow the lines stated in the journey preamble. You will note that the journey ENDS at Nassington, in which the abovementioned posting is obviously wrong.
