Strange station - the sole platform (for westbound trains) was actually the eastbound trackbed, suitably raised for the purpose, filled in up to rail level and closed to traffic on race days.

Ok - understood the note applies to the L&Y station, although Aintree Central was originally called Aintree Racecourse - hence the confusion. So Sefton and Maghull is OK, I think.
