710 379 is still at the back of Willesden depot as of right now.

The screens are switched on and say Surrey Quays.

Surely Surrey Quays is somewhere 710379 is never going to go ?.

I wish it would move along though as I want 710375 to expose itself, before risk of it returning to Derby/Worksop like 710270 did !.

Maybe there could be a storage siding at Surrey Keys !.

374 Worksop 375 Derby.
But my understanding is that 710374 and 710270 are at Worksop.

That was a post from 18/01/2023 - a report of 710375 moving from Derby to Ilford.
710375 was on test on 19/01 seen on the chord between South Tottenham and Tottenham South Junction around midday.
That was a post from 03/02/2023.

So has it moved from London since then ?.
That would explain a lack of reports in London.

I was replying to the post about 374 and 375, not 270!

I have 270 at Worksop (moved Feb 2023), 374 at Litchurch Lane and 375 at Ilford (returned in Jan).

Could you advise when you believe 374 moved to Worksop please Peter?

Found it (see below), posted 23/02/2023 and updated 24/02/2023.

Reported as 710270 between Barriers & TnT 37s 884/608

I seem to recall 374 and 375 had come from Worksop to Derby a few weeks or so before. London gained 375 but 374 went back to Worksop the day after 270 did (which had been in London some time before) !.

Thanks @The_Train. I only wish it was true they were all in London. At one stage in January it was expected 379 into service, then 375 then 374 seemingly weeks apart iirc. Instead 270 has sneaked back to Derby then Worksop. More puzzling 374 went Worksop - Derby - Worksop !.

Suggests to me TfL cannot find room for all six extra 710s (the 710/3s) and need to keep two of them at a distance - I feel 710270 has replaced 710375 in "store". Roll on some 378s finally going South East to the ELR (East London Railway).

With the month-long summer closure of the Watford DC Line (July/August) approaching, I doubt the full fleet will be in London before then.

to confirm 710379 has been in service but failed and has an ongoing investigation being completed on it (returning in the next 2 weeks to service); 710375 is at Ilford and hasn't run under its own power yet (acceptance in the next 12 or so weeks) but needs testing and rebuilding - (currently split and in paint at Ilford); 710374 and 710270 in Worksop and are due back in Derby over the next couple of weeks.

All units are needed for service and are required in London at the earliest opportunity, but it down to the manufacturer to get them readied for acceptance.

Screens seems to have packed up in carriage 431230, on an Enfield bound 710 out of Liverpool Street.

Screens flashing on and off as if the back-light has gone (former LCD engineer so speculating)20230313_171801.jpg20230313_171810.jpg

Useful :) thanks.

In what way? There aren't any additional services planned as far as I can make out, so why are more units needed?
There are plans which see the fleet used - I am sorry that is all I can say...........

Seems the computers / tablets failed to start as further down the carriage some just had the Overground splash screen. Still, a massive improvement on the Class 315s and 317s which was the last time I really used the Overground. Not so keen on the seating arrangement though...

Have to say that while I usually agree with this seating point, considering the length of journey and the sheer amount of people these trains can comfortably take (especially post-match at White Hart Lane when no extra trains are on) far outweighs the downsides. They are indeed a huge upgrade and have gotten so used to them now, I can't believe we had the 315s for so long!

The 710s are a surprising upgrade on the 378s, which to me feel a bit compromised. The plug doors remove the intrusive door pocket area, and I don't bang my head against the 378 window "hopper" when I lean back!

Which 710s still have the announcements about masks? I heard it onboard 710377 a few weeks ago departing Euston for Watford Junction
