I don’t think that was meant to be a question.

It was a direct link to post #2779, where your previous question about 710270 in post #2786 had just been answered.

The problem is that the forum software includes a snippet from the first post of the page when you do a link. In this case the page starts with a question that I noticed because it has been combined with my answer, post #2761.
Ah ha. Well spotted. I did not even find the post 2779. I have updated my post.

That happened a couple of years ago. All 378s have now had their tripcock removed, the 710s never had a tripcock.

Hah the last couple of years have been so weird it's hard to remember how long ago things were. Good to know!

710270 due to head back from Ilford to Derby tomorrow. not sure how long it could be in derby but suspect until mid 2023.

710375 is due in Ilford Jan, but this is subject to texting in the new year of new software.

710379 enters service second week of jan 23 all going well.

Re tripcocks above, Class 710 never fitted, but 378/2 units still have tripcocks but are strapped up - to be removed at next bogie overhaul..

hope this helps :)

"710379 enters service second week of jan 23 all going well."

Anyone know if this happened ?
I have not seen 710379 in service. I covered the Watford-Euston sets and a good proportion of the NLL last Wednesday 11/01/2023. The other 3 x 5-car 710s (376, 377 & 378) were on Watford-Euston so I guess that is the route it (379) will be on. I also have not seen it parked up at Willesden depot but others have.

710379 finally out today on 06:30 Watford to Euston.
At last !. It (710379) must have been out and about before on test runs because I kept NOT seeing it round the back of Willesden depot (alongside the DC lines) contrary to reports. I did eventually coincide with it there in January.

For others' information - TfL only seem to use these 5car 710/3s, that are all destined for the North London Line, on the Watford to Euston line. The WatEus line seems to host 1x378, 4x710/2 (i.e. 4car) and all 3x710/3 (i.e. 5car) - that is judging by my last survey back in mid January and earlier ones. Probably 710379 has now taken a 710/2 duty there.

To recap - eventually the 6x 710/3s are for the North London Line to allow some more 378s to transfer to the East London Lines to cover enhanced services on the ELL.

Any news on 710375 - last heard of being delivered to Ilford ?. (EDIT - see below).

To recap 710270 (4car) went back to Derby and 710374 is still at Derby (?) awaiting delivery to London (Ilford ?). Those afaikt are the only two 710s not currently in London ?.

EDIT :-
710375 was on test on 19/01 seen on the chord between South Tottenham and Tottenham South Junction around midday.
The above taken from the "Non-urgent TOPS requests" thread and added here for a bit of completeness.

Is the status of the last 3 still the same 710375 - Ilford, 710270 & 710374 at Derby.
I have not encountered or worked anything more out beyond that. I think a challenge is that TfL trains do not show up on TOPS etc so not much people can search for on systems.

Backward step I assume as Worksop is further from London in terms of going into service !.

So I can only guess 710374 follows tomorrow ?.

No idea, only Barriers are in use again.
I suppose there might be a 720 or so to choose from out of the 14 (+ 720123-144 not yet built) that are not yet in service

Would be nice if that was 710374 coming South but it is 400t vs 600t, 75mph vs 40mph so lighter and faster. So possibly Locos and barriers coming to collect a unit from Willesden !. Knowing my luck 710375 !. Just hope that is still at Ilford.

I see todays (24/02/2023) 5Q68 you found has been activated and not an exact number of hours before hand. I vaguely understand that means it was not automatically activated by a computer 2 (2 ?) hours before and so not likely to be manually verridden/cancelled. So must have a human hand in its activation.

Hope someone will know what it comprises soon ?.

Otherwise I might take a trip to Willesden to intercept it. Knowing my luck, if it is preparing to take a unit back, that the "victim" will be nowhere to be seen until silly O'Clock. I suppose it could be one of the two c2c 720/6s that have been parked up at Willesden a while ago. Clutching at straws but being two paths might be for two units - so 2 x 720/6 at Willesden or, my worse guess is, 710375 and 710379.
710374 moving to Worksop today on 5Q26 from Litchurch Lane
Oh well that bit of the logic/paranoia has fallen into place, unfortunately.

Ah, thanks for that, so 5Q68 should be late or not at all !.

EDIT :-

Now, as you say above, cancelled.

But looks like paths possible for same/similar tomorrow.

It did indeed run, but it's a GA 720 being moved to Willesden, not a 710
Hmm looks like Willesden is using up its space for 720s rather than 710s !. I wonder - are the previous two 720/6s (I noted 720609 & 720610 there on 28/01/2023) still there ?.

Mind you I think maybe the later 710 deliveries have been to Ilford rather than Willesden even though they were 710/2 & 710/3.

EDIT :- Rumour it is 720124 - I did not know 720123-144 were near to completion yet.

710379 parked in its usual place at the back of Willesden depot beside the DC lines this evening.

710379 finally out today on 06:30 Watford to Euston.
That was 3/2/2023.

Oh so 710379 is back there (round the back of Willesden TMD) again, did it ever do much on Wat-Eus ?.

710375 was on test on 19/01 seen on the chord between South Tottenham and Tottenham South Junction around midday.
And I wonder how far 710375 has got towards being used - now over five weeks later ?.

Just to recap 710270 and 710374 have gone from Derby to Worksop.

377 on NLL today. Still no funding for ELL improvements which drive the need for them to actually do much.

Ah, my big fear. Namely the 710/3s getting used where they are meant to be used thus making it hard to find them !. The Wat-Eus was a nice little route to find them on as only takes 90 minutes at Willesden Junction low level to get all that is running !. At least they can never get to Gospel Oak - Barking (platform lengths).

Worse still I was hoping the ELL improvements were already approved.

I have before wondered if availability is such that they need the extra six 710s anyway. There have been three "surplus" (376, 377 & 378) for a while. Now arguably 4 surplus ( 375-379 minus 270). Leaving only two at Derby now Worksop.

I did at first think you meant a Southern EMU had somehow strayed onto the NLL !.
