There's no record of it returning to Willesden and there's another one scheduled for tonight:Reported elsewhere as 710378.
When a four car 710 went down to the Southern last October wasn’t it to do some sort of interference testing in an overnight SPZ or something? There's no record of it returning to Willesden and there's another one scheduled for tonight:
Are they using the sidings at Gatwick for temporary storage?Realtime Trains - 580S 2137 Willesden T.M.D to Gatwick Airport C.H.S.

I imagine they've gone for some 3rd rail testing. Or it's just a convenient place to do some other tests. There's no record of it returning to Willesden and there's another one scheduled for tonight:

Some sort of DC testing. It’s already mentioned in the existing 710 thread.Hi I saw 710 337 (maybe...317?) in London Overground colours in the sidings outside Gatwick station...
Any thoughts what its doing?
Was sat there for most of the day....
Thanks! Some sort of DC testing. It’s already mentioned in the existing 710 thread.
Why am I not surprised.Regret to report 710 378 has been tagged in the sidings at Gatwick.
Hasn't that been in service since December 2019? It is 710256, 710270 and 710374/75/78/79 that still await entry to service.710 259 has entered service; it's with 710 273 on the West Anglia loan... I just saw it at Bethnal Green.
710377 been in traffic for about a month or so.Hasn't that been in service since December 2019? It is 710256, 710270 and 710374/75/77/78/79 that still await entry to service.
Has it? Wasn't aware of that... I've certainly not come across it before, nor has someone else I know who's been chasing them.Hasn't that been in service since December 2019? It is 710256, 710270 and 710374/75/77/78/79 that still await entry to service.
710259 first reported working on the Watford DC line on 30 December 2019 (and as a consequence I had it for haulage later that evening), and reported a number of times through 2020.Has it? Will double check when I get home.
Oops, thanks for confirming. I'll correct the earlier posting.710377 been in traffic for about a month or so.
Yes, thanks - I've now checked my friend's list and I think I was thinking of 710 256 earlier. Having said that, I need 259 myself so as it's on the West Anglia loan duty I'll probably have a good chance of getting it tomorrow...710259 first reported working on the Watford DC line on 30 December 2019 (and as a consequence I had it for haulage later that evening), and reported a number of times through 2020.
5 not in service. 256/374/375 Old Dalby. 270/379 DerbyHas there been any further Units into traffic.
When did 710378 actually enter service? I've seen reports of 710378 being delivered to Willesden, and being used for high speed DC testing between Gatwick Airport and Haywards Heath, but I've not seen anything about it being in service. Many thanks5 not in service. 256/374/375 Old Dalby. 270/379 Derby
Surprising how long it's taken to get these in traffic considering it's been 2 years since the first ones of these entered service. I believe the 30 710/1s long since all in service.5 not in service. 256/374/375 Old Dalby. 270/379 Derby
Reduced Covid service levels have removed any urgency and the Barking extension is very behind too.Surprising how long it's taken to get these in traffic considering it's been 2 years since the first ones of these entered service. I believe the 30 710/1s long since all in service.
As well as Barking Riverside there were also 6 units in the overall order allocated for ELL additional services, (20 tph in the core section), that I believe are still unconfirmed.Reduced Covid service levels have removed any urgency and the Barking extension is very behind too.
