260/271 are on loan to Ilford as they have been displaced by 378s on the DC for social distancing (in turn spare from reduced NLL) and there is an additional set needed in Anglia for driver training as well as general cover. One of the 710/2s is effectively 710131 for IL anyway, just changed to DV in the option order.

Apologies if this has been said but I searched and could not find it. Does the 05:30 Liv St to Enfield Town on Saturdays still go via South Tottenham since it became cl710?

It doesn't appear to have gone that way recently. It last went via South Tottenham on 12 September, then via Stoke Newington on the following Saturdays and cancelled on 24 October.

Its booked to run via S-Tottenham. However alot of people no longer sign it due to being out of competency (covid changed alot of what you can and cant do with regards to route refreshing) So if you no longer sign you can ask for it to be routed via Southbury, which is invariably the case most of the time.

Thanks for gen. Whenever I've looked it up on RTT it's either not run or gone via Southbury. I've thought about trying to give it a go (some of the last few bits of track I've not travelled over), but after seeing your comments, I think I'll leave it until things get back to normal, or more likely when a new normal becomes established.

South Tottenham has been blocked Saturdays for most of the last few months - bit hard to go that way when its under possession!

Thanks for the replies! I’ve been on a diverted 317 from Stratford to Seven Sisters via South Tottenham because of an incident at Tottenham Hale! Off topic but interesting nonetheless!

I just observed a 4 car 710 (ie not not running in multiple) just arriving at Enfield Town to form the 0838. Didn’t catch the number. First time I’ve seen a 710 in service and not be a 8 car

I noticed a 4 car 710 at Enfield Town to form the 0838 to Liv St. firs time I’ve seen a 710 on this route not as an 8 car!

Faulty air vent in the driver cab of 710130 causing distraction

But in general the 710s are very unreliable units, the rate of failures the last few days is pretty much the normal

Spectacular failures like yesterday where it sits down totally are rare. Today is GA again, last week was two suspensions for 745 issues...

there are 4 outstanding 4-car units: 710272/273-both in london and will be in service by dec timetable change and 256/270 at melton and derby respectfully.

reliability is much better and growing nicely. yes of course there are early life failures.......unfortunately with any new platform of new trains.

710272 was taken back to Willesden this morning, Sunday 22 Nov., as 0714 Dorking to Willesden TMD by ROG 37884 top & tail with 37601, via a reversal at Horsham. Seen passing Littlehaven around 0725, running early, with 37884 leading towards Three Bridges.
Is the 5 car unit (276?) still at Dorking for testing?

No rush really, no requirement any time soon. 272/273 should be in traffic soonish but only as additional slack in fleet.

Daytime GE trundles between Ilford and Shenfield planned on Sunday morning for 710xxx, 0945 off Ilford. Should be a swap of a 710/2 between Ilford and Willesden on Saturday too.

From 13th Dec vast majority of TOCs go back to their long term plans anyway. As instructed. Including Arriva. Cant run basically your full fleet all the time. Looks like they started a day early. New TCMS software is due across the fleet, only 2 units done. Gives a chance to get it rolled out.

From my experience, one or two swap over on the GOBLIN each day, but whether they swap with the depot or swap onto Watfords, I'm not sure. I would imagine they swap into the depot and then it's pot luck which line they swap back out on to when something else comes in for maintenance.

The GOBLIN uses six units each day, the normal arrangements are to have two stabled at Willesden, two at East Ham (c2c), and one each in the platforms at Gospel Oak and Barking. Once they get back to Willesden, they can go back out on either line.
