Hmm, interesting!
I don't know why, but it seems to look more...erm...German than the 66s do in DB red.
What's the story with the Maple Leaf though?
Oh I agree, looks like something we are going to have to get used to though, but gladly they not turning them out on a daily basis. I do seem to remember not being a big fan of the EWS livery but now its going I know ill miss it!

You would have thought they would have put the Maple Leaf on a 66 as they were built in Canada rather than a Spanish built 67![]()
Come on folks, take the bother to read the thread, the explanation is earlier on, post#28
Oh yeah! How come nobody spotted that!hock:
The 990's are the only ones to go south of the border and IIRC only 2/4 are painted as such, and even then they sometimes end up on Natex East Anglia!

I have read the thread and do know why they did it.
It was a tongue in cheek comment which is why I added theat the end.
ill repeat myself, the MD Keith Heller is due to leave the company, he is from canada hence the Maple leaf as for why they did it on a 67 cant say but im guessing its because it can be used on their company train and (hopefully) WSMR, FGW, FSR and charter runs. where as a 66 could only see use on the odd charter and freight work

Repeat yourself as many times as you like. As I put I know full well why they put a maple leaf on the 67 and that the outgoing MD is a well loved Canadian.
Here is my post again just for completeness!
It is tongue in cheek, light hearted as it referring to where the locos were built and is nothing to do with the nameplate it was going to carry.
