458/5 drag currently heading down to Wimbledon reported leaving Donny around 25 mins ago should be 458515. Also only 1 458/0 diagram today since 458529's introduction into service.

Looks like I need to do a complete Waterloo to Reading run on one before they go. Wonder what the timings from Waterloo are between 1000-1700?

67614 was being loaded onto a trailer this afternoon

458014 (well part of) was seen being loaded on to a low loader on 28/09/15. Leaving 6 458s in service.

Saw a low loader preparing to take away the rest of 458014 last night.
Been told that 8016 has a fault waiting to be fixed and 8021 is out until it's fixed so really only 4 operational units currently.

What? WWTownEnth has always kept a list of the remaining 458/0 units - since his last posting it appears that 458014 has departed to Doncaster:

458s remaining (458006, 458007, 458014, 458016, 458017, 458021, 458028)

The ex-460 units were the first to be converted - this was because they were already OOU and could cover for the majority of 458 units when in service.

Many are coming close to overhaul mileage across the board.

8534 was the only ex-460 that had an overhaul as well a 5 car.

8515 is the first ex-458 to have an overhaul as well as 5 car.

I think 8012/3/4/21/22/23 will come back overhauled as well as converted. You can tell as the bogies are painted a light grey.

Last Saturday's service requirement was zero, so unless there's suddenly 25 plus 450 unavailable I wouldn't hold out much hope.

That was my guess as well :P with the units so close to their mileage limits for exams, the last thing they'd want is to add to those figures when it isn't necessary. That also means no chance to get them on diversion via Kingston on Sunday (luckily I used the previous opportunity earlier in the year ).

Oh, and I didn't manage to go today either, after losing track of time in the afternoon . Third time lucky tomorrow?

With the Rugby Saturday too I don't think there will be any 458/0's out mostly 450's and 455's with the odd 458/5.

With 127 units to play with, none of which are undergoing a dragged out 5 car conversion, and a dedicated C4 overhaul line at Eastleigh (as you mentioned), I don't see any reason to suggest the 458/5 situation sets any sort of precedent for 450s, which appears to be what SpacePhoenix is worried about?

8006/8007 are out running today, must need them for the amount of extra's they are running for the Rugby. Currently 15 late at Ascot heading to Reading.
