Class 458/5

There must be some drivers somewhere that sign 458s west of Poole as I've seen clips on Youtube of them west of Poole, would they likely be based at Bournemouth depot?

Probably Bournemouth drivers.I sign as far as Poole.Used to sign Weymouth till 2004.

Saw 524 and 527 yesterday.

They have only gone beyond Poole and to Weymouth for specific trials, such as for re-gen braking trials. It seems to me that day to day route and traction knowledge responsibilities are irrelevant, for instance for a discrete trial (sometimes within a track possession) they can just be route conducted there and back.

They are (now, post conversion) completely unsuitable stock for the route, and that's the main factor.

Ten car today,saw it on it's way to Waterloo (up main or slow,can't remember) empties? as I left just after 6am.533 and 503 I think.then it was in the bay at the same time as I passed yesterday

There's still a set of 'Q' paths during the middle of the day for testing, a query of RTT for SWT non passenger calls at Reading finds them, a few are between Reading and Staines Up loop (was wrongly carriage sidings):

No guarantee they'll be used in any given day of course.

This train has been delayed at Putney by 5 minutes, has been further delayed at Richmond and is now 11 minutes late.
This train will no longer call at Isleworth, Syon Lane, Brentford, Kew Bridge, Chiswick, Barnes Bridge, Barnes (on return at 08:19), Putney (on return at 08:22), Wandsworth Town (on return at 08:25), Clapham Junction (on return at 08:28), Queenstown Rd.Battersea (on return at 08:31) and Vauxhall (on return at 08:35).
This is due to a train fault.

Must have been because of Ride London? Would have rather had a higher frequency than 2tph between New Malden and Hampton Wick via Kingston because of the road closures.

Yesterday the Hounslow routes had two single 450s and the rest were single 455s. There have for a few weeks been at least two 458/5 pairs on Windsor & Eton Riverside services.

Yesterday was worse. At least today the trains were strengthened. Because of the Portsmouth Line problems the majority of the Guildford-Waterloo service yesterday was being provided by 4-car 455s via Cobham, they just couldn't cope with the number of bikes people were taking.

Yes, I just saw a couple this evening. 1S70 had 533 on, and 1S63 was 520. So is this likely to be permanent then or just a one off for the cycling?

Yes and the worrying thing for me is I don't know the P.I.S code,saw one in Woking bay with Woking up meaning there is a code.

There is a book with all pis codes available. Ask your dm or a di.

Ironically it was issued to the guards not drivers despite the guards being unable to enter the code...

I am a DI and I don't have this magical book. When I finally managed to swap my conversion manual for a full 458/5 manual Sod's law the PIS list was not in there. There are many in this same situation so the 1S** 10 car services very rarely have the Correct code, same with the 1U** and 2U** services (Sunday only)
