Move from Laira to Ely on Tuesday, interesting how it's a light loco move, could just be 2 power cars going
It will be for 43188/189. These are the only two Angel owned vehicles at Laira, hence why it shows as light engines.

Yes it is, because all three are locos.
Yes, don't forget that HST Power Cars ARE locomtives (Class 43 indeed !) and up to six locomotives coupled can run as a Class 0 (ie: Light locomotive(s)) - in fact I think the official description might be one locomotive hauling up to six (so seven in total) anything more than this is treated as Exceptional and will be shown as Class 7 (prbably 7X..)

0Z43 Laira - Totnes followed by 5Z43 Totnes - Carnforth in the system for tomorrow. Looks like new WCR power cars picking up Mk. 1s from the South Devon Railway en route.

Anybody know which power cars it's likely to be?

They’ll be from the five FRH owned power cars still at Laira, but as to quantity and numbers, I don’t know.

43097, 43098 and 43198 bound for Carnforth apparently - https://www.flickr.com/photos/145100037@N05/55050766633/
Indeed, leaving the other 3 for Romic.

Unknown what the future will be for 088 though which will have to depart by road. It has also given up parts of its fairings for 188.

Of note, Laira has been busier with the scraper for 188 which has lost the dragon, unlike 187 which left with it on its trip to Ely.

Not sure which locos are moving, but judging by the data above and the headcode, looks to be a few HSTs on the move to Carnforth.

As above, 43097, 43098 and 43198. They were due to collect the Mk1s which have been on hire to the SDR for the winter season but a points failure meant they couldn’t get into Totnes Riverside.

43097, 43098 & 43198 are the power cars quoted, there's been a points problem at Totnes so they've not stopped to pick up the ECS

So by my reckoning we have just 43092, 43093 and 43156 in a fit to run state at Laira, with 43088 as a parts donor not fit to travel by rail?

From the HST preservation discussion...
... or remaining in the UK for Colas & Network Rail. Compared to the Western region fleet, the East Coast machines have faired well.
The East Coast power cars have indeed fared well, but would it be accurate to say that a majority of the ex-LNER IM (infrastructure monitoring) 43s are being stood down in favour of ex-CrossCountry 43s?

What you also need to remember is both the XC and East Coast power cars were re-engineered to the same standards during their time at Brush. Both have the upgraded electronics, WSP and BRUSH radiators so there wouldn’t be much in it if Colas did want to swap power cars.

All modifications the Western Power Cars didn’t receive, and why ScotRail has somewhat been paying the price for (eg upgraded electronics and WSP).

Thank you for the additional detail.

Saw some videos of the units being moved, it was indeed those 3.

I was expecting the GWR branding to be removed. What I didn't expect was the nameplates to also be gone as well, which is a shame.

The nameplates belong to GWR.
That would explain a lot. It's a shame 198 is losing her plates; the fact that she is not only the last powercar, but also named for 2 drivers who lost their lives while signed on for duty was what made her my favourite loco. I didn't know plates were the TOC's property!
I expect they will be sold through GWRA auctions.
Any bets on what the prices will be?

As do the cast GWR letters which I’m sure will probably find their way to auction at some point.

198’s nameplates may end up being kept by GWR given their significance though.
