Unfortunately LM don't listen to complaints about 350/2.If it was a longer journey I would stand an spend the journey sending London Midland e mails asking them to stop putting 350/2's on Inter City trains. Even Merseyrail don't have 3+2.
BHM-LIV requires eight units and EUS-CRE about the same number. LM has 40 2+2 units but the Liverpool route (88 miles) still sees 3-4 350/2 units each day.
That's because the 350/2 are only 100mph where as the rest are 110mph so are required for timetabled service on the WCML services so the 350/2 end up on the remaining routes.
There is a big difference between a /1 and a /2 on the long distance. I've done a /1 Euston to Crewe and /2 back. /2 was definitely not a great trip, especially with air con playing up.
