The new TPE trains will be the same too.

Anyway, 185144 will be out of refurbishment hopefully by Weds.

On one hand, girls names seems a bit tacky compared to the more formal names the rail industry usually goes with.

On the other hand, the naming of Eddie Stobart trucks is ridiculously popular, and as such girls names on TPE might be more accessible for the general public to get engaged with, than 'Bounds Green Intercity Depot' and the like.

A woman has been tragically killed after being hit by a train on the main cross-Pennine line - it's led to the closure of the line connecting Manchester and Leeds.

The tragedy happened shortly before 4pm at Ravensthorpe Station near Dewsbury, and all services between Huddersfield and Leeds were suspended.

It will then do 1450 Scarborough to Liverpool, then the 1812 to Newcastle.

I had 150 yesterday to be fair, not overly impressed to be honest. To me a refurb needs more than New seats carpets and fablon stick-around...

I thought it looked smart.

What else do you think its needs? I admit that the 150s and other Northern units need more due to their age but what else do you think could be done to the 185s? The interiors are tired but for me, still alright.

More than New seats, fablon and new carpet! Dont get me wrong, it looks good. But The cab doors have significant corrosion issues that could have been sorted along with the toilet flush mechanisms, cabs haven't been done apart from New seats, no storage improvements and many of the genetic faults haven't been addressed. in fact 185150 entered traffic with numerous faults affecting the PIS, an engine out and one of the sink taps not working.

There's also signs of sloppy work where the fablon hasn't stuck to the doors or bulkhead properly, overspray of paint, the seat frames are the old colour and not repainted to match the new upholstery.

Maybe I'm just being picky, but I believe more could have been done.

It does sound a bit cheep I'll grant you and I agree as a mear passenger the toilets need attention to the flush. Power sockets are welcome though.

185150 looked like the Orient Express compared to my 322 today at 17:23 Piccadilly Platforms 3 and 4 respectively!

Travelled on 185150 today - I thought the standard class seats felt much softer. Generally a very good job in my opinion - after well over 100,000 miles on these trains at my own expense. (Still looking forward to actual new trains mind).
