Yes, providing they're not calling at short platforms. 2E28 ran as a double set with both in use on Friday night. Thankfully it is finally starting to feel like there's some more breathing space in the fleet - despite the obvious teething.
For information, all the platforms lengths, a 2car set is 48m long, 3car is 72m long, so double set question only arises on platforms that cannot take trains that are around 80-145m (depending on if 4 or 5 or 6 car)
Per sectional appendix platforms under 150m, those not listed can take 2x3cars. Following restricted to 5 or less vehicles
