Are will still expecting the last two 172 after Christmass. I suppose its so long as there might be some unexpected extra parts required.

Saw 24 out of 27 this morning in about three hours. Didn't see 222 (as expected) nor 333 and 336. There was one three car UID at the bottom of Tyseley shed. 331 was in service.

What are the Chiltern 172s diagrammed to work since the timetable change ? It would appear that the 1816 Marylebone to Bicester North is no longer 3 x 172s.

1740 from Marylebone to Bicester North and return in the evening - crucially calling at South Ruislip at 1958 for anyone on a travelcard bash.

Some 172 door problems this morning as 172345+332 were sent empty to Tyseley this morning rather than work my train to work the 07.58 Dorridge - Stourbridge Junc. Explanation given was there was a fault on the doors. 172331 was out with 342 on the next train to Birmingham so just 222 to get into service now. The first time I've seen a pair if 3-car 172's working and it was just as well as both were packed by Birmingham!

The former 150+153 turn was 172219+221 this morning now that the 153 isn't diagrammed since the timetable change.

In reference to the smashed window, a lovely passenger decided to give it a thunk a couple of weekends ago en-route to Dorridge.

I was on 172218 on Saturday and it looked like somebody had decided to smash at least one hard-boiled egg on the seats and carpet :( At least the area had been taped off to avoid anybody else from spreading it all around the train. It also meant that nobody could get from one end of the coach to the other!

I was also on 172343 on a Kidderminster - Dorridge working. Train came in with the back car locked out of use (technical fault the guard said) It was getting near football time at West Brom. The train was cosy to say the least and we were leaving people behind en-route. Still at least they dont have long to wait for the next train :)

LM's trains seem to not be having a good week: the smashed 172 window, a broken 150 and now this afternoon, a 170(508?) had a rear engine failure on the 15:40 HFD-BHM; the train has to go non-stop through Bromsgrove in order to make it up the Lickey Incline.

But did it go up the Lickey, with one engine I might have sent it the slightly less challenging route, it's only 1 in 50 up Old Hill?

I saw it depart Droitwich Spa heading towards Bromsgrove; it continued 10mins late from there, on normal stopping schedule from Barnt Green.

A few photos from yesterday of 172 331 after a few days in full flight service!

331 was taken from the footbridge at the end of Kiddy station and the 2 cards take from farmer Teds field oppersite the VOSA test station on the Kiddy-Worcs road.

It was sat waiting for a path into the station, presumably to reverse to run towards Birmingham?

172222 passed through Longbridge station northbound at 14:01 today a couple of minutes behind 60091 on the empty tanks on the fast line. There were 2 people in the cab but the rest of the train was empty, looks to have the full compliment of interior fitting/seats so presume out on test prior to going into service. (150109 passed southbound on a Hereford service a couple of minutes later which was a nice surprise)

Didn't know 150109 was still with LM, probably the same one I saw through Northfield around 1004 going south yesterday. It was on the 1633 from Droitwich Spa to New Street earlier too. I really need to check out the diagrams for 150s on LM now.

I see there's apparently two 170+153 pairs at least running through New Street, as I had 170513+153375 on the 1549 New Street to Hereford earlier and I saw a 170 paired with 153364 in p4c as we left at 1556.

LM have retained three 150 units, 150105, 150107 and 150109. One is for BHM-HFD duties; one for Marston Vale services; and one spare — I think they are swapped at the end of the week, with Worcs crews taking the unit from BH
-HFD service ECS to Tyseley.

Here is a list of the BHM-HFD 150 diagram:
06.28 WOS - BHM;
07.19 BHM - GMV;
08.38 GMV - BHM;
09.49 BHM - HFD;
11.40 HFD - BHM;
13.49 BHM - HFD;
15.40 HFD - BHM;
17.59 BHM - GMV;
ECS to Worcester LMD.
