first off ment GLC, should really stop drinking. Its quite frankly amazing what you can get on the via appleby run, have just booked a return trip to Leicester from0EDB which with railcard discount, assuming mine doesnt get pinched again like it just has today has cost me 39 quid with an off peak return Carlisle Leeds and AP's to fill in the blanks! Who cares it takes nearly 8 hours, certainly not me!

Given the astonishlingly high prices of tickets on the S&C for local journeys, it really is astonishing what value there is out there with 'via Appleby' tickets to and from Scotland.

and its actually thanks to your good self that I found this out - would never before have considdered going to Leicester via Carlisle and leeds! A great saving on voyager miles too as routings via ECML are all via XC, well the cheeper ones anyway!
