A lengthy article on the line in the next issue of RAIL due out 1st October 2025
As lengthy as the delay?A lengthy article on the line in the next issue of RAIL due out 1st October 2025
Not sure what staff training will be necessary. WMR should have station staff ready to draft in. It is not as if they did not have many stations already in the city and surrounding area.a I be correct in thinking that the line will probably not open until about Easter 2026 ? My understanding is that it is expected that most of the work on the stations should be finished by the end of 2025 but that this will need to be followed by staff training?
Stopping distances (in reality), despatch etc.I have seen rumours that the reopening of the line will be delayed but as usual no official confirmation that I am aware of.

Probably July!Anyone got any information regarding whether 'Spring' is likely to mean March. April, or May?
March apparently.West Midlands website updated today states that roadworks outside Kings Heath & Pineapple Road stations are complete and that the stations are expected to open in Spring 2026. Anyone got any information regarding whether 'Spring' is likely to mean March. April, or May?
ShuttlesAnd are these still 2tph Kings Norton - New St shuttles, or being connected in with anything?
Apparently services should commence in 2026. I passed Kings Heath station yesterday and it looks to be in the later stages of completion.I couldn't see any threads on this. Any news on how this is progressing, what still needs doing and when it is likely to open, sometime in 2026?
Definitely 1st half of 2026. Train crew are currently being reminded of their responsibility to keep the route refreshed for competency. Station guides due in the new yearApparently services should commence in 2026. I passed Kings Heath station yesterday and it looks to be in the later stages of completion.
Can anyone point me at a link on Real Times Trains? Is there a code for Kings Heath or Pineapple Road?If I'm not mistaken it looks like some of the test runs between New Street and Kings Norton have begun.

196009 (in Chiltern livery) looks like it's out testing the route and station stops today.
