Send them a (public) tweet asking where your response/refund is - usually springs them into action...
Thanks for the prompt advice.
Sadly I am not a Twitter user, having totally failed to actually make it work (like many others to judge by the recent bizarre advertising campaign I saw at the cinema).

92018 doing the Highlander ECS
Good photo, thanks for sharing.

92018 worked 1M11 then left behind in P1 when the Lowlander ECS was taken back (by 87002) so that it could run round to take the Highlander ECS (5M16) - which is the usual approach in the mornings at Euston.

Might try and do the same for the northbound process on my next trip.

If you will permit me BRX this is what I witnessed in the early hours of this morning from my coach in the northbound Fort William portion:

On the arrival of 1S25 at Edinburgh Waverley a 67 attaches to the back at the Haymarket end and then hauls away the Inverness portion. Then a 73 is then attached to the back of what is left at the Haymarket end and hauls away the Aberdeen portion. This just leaves the two sleeper coaches on the Fort William portion. The day coaches are added to the back by being propelled in from the Berwick end by a 73. Having propelled the day coaches onto the back (Berwick end) the 73 then runs round an hauls the Fort William portion forward.

...and
92 010 on 1M16
92 033 on 1S25
92 018 on 1S26

with 87 002 on Euston ECS and 92 043 on Glasgow ECS in the morning.

67s are also due to swap tonight - 67 007 heading to Mossend and back to DBC when it comes off 1M16 and 67 018 "Keith Heller" will replace it and work 1S25 to Inverness.

Its still used as a siding where the sleeper stock stables during the day as platform 1 is used by scotrail services during the day.
Then the sleeper stock is drawn from there into platform 1 or 2 at night.

The stock is removed from P2 on arrival in the morning by the 08 then washed. It is propelled back to no6 Road at the rear of the CSMD for de-tanking. The 08 gets removed and stabled- currently in the old TMD. The 67 then leaves P2 where it has been since arrival and couples on to the coaches at the CSMD. After de-tanking, its all taken back to platform 2 where the train remains for the rest of the day for bed making/cleaning. The only exception to this is on a Saturday. The stock is taken after cleaning over to the back of the CSMD and split into two roads. The Motorail siding is not currently used for storing the stock and has been like this for a few months.

In an earlier post I mentioned I was going to take my wife on a sleeper to Fort William. Can anybody advise what are the quietest days to travel. Thinking of going up to Fort Bill on a Tuesday and coming back on a Thursday.

Good evening everyone. Forgive me if I am not totally up to speed with all the in's and out's of the Caley Sleeper routine. However I happened across this image on Flickr this afternoon of 92014 in CS livery doing the cars run. Has she been in for mods and is now trying her legs on the main line? Credit to Timothy Rowley for the image.

No - it's just the way the 92s are allocated at the moment that this one is covering the 6X41/6L48 car diagram. Meanwhile, "freight" 92s 92043 and 92044 are on the beds. Whilst they do try and keep the CS-liveried ones on the beds in the main, they do sometimes crop up on the cars, and sometimes (very rarely!) on the China Clays. At the current time all GBRf's 92s can work the sleeper, all can work the cars and most of them can work through the tunnel (although not all the 'Sleeper' ones are certified). With a small fleet to manage, sometimes the "freight" ones end up on the Beds and vice-versa.

92014 was actually the first 92 to have the reliability mods and was the "guinea pig" for these - they were completed late May 2016 and it returned to the Sleeper fairly soon after this (night of Mon 4th July) - it was the only regular 92 on the beds for some time after this (amongst the hired-in Freightliner 90s) until other members of the fleet received the mods and came back onto the beds in early 2017.

014 hasn't had the Dellner and other Mk5 compatibility mods yet, but I doubt they will require the need for much 'testing' on the cars after they have been done.

I say! Thank you Tim for a most comprehensive reply!

92010 was dumped in the Klondike at Edinburgh today. A friend who’s local there says it’s dead and has been there for about three weeks. Any ideas?

Total wibble!

It’s been in active use on the Sleeper on a nightly basis and in fine fettle. Been working the Highlander 1S25/1M16 rotation recently - worked 1S25 North last night.

The Klondike is one of the usual stabling places for the a/c locos (usually a 92) in between working 1S25 one night then back the next night on 1M16 (or Fri/Sun if a weekend).

Your friend presumably (by chance) has just happened to have been at Waverley all the times 010 has been there “resting” in the daytime in between 1S25/1M16.

Duly noted. I’ll pass that on.

I haven’t really been following this thread much lately, so I felt there could be a kernel of truth.
Unfortunately ECML carnage put pay to a trip to Glasgow (we’d hoped to get the 12:47 via Shotts but didn’t get into EDB until just before 2...) so no idea what’s in Polmadie. I should have suspected it was wibble as it was the only loco at Edinburgh today.

Polmadie this weekend is a bit of a freight 92 fest - 92043 and 92044 are there, along with 86101 (ECS).

73966 + 73971 are also at Polmadie currently - due to engineering works meaning Sun night’s “Aberdeen” service will start from Dundee, with the ABD portion recessing to Polmadie over the weekend and being taken to Dundee T’n’T on Sunday pm.

47749 is on exam at Craigentinny so not at Polmadie at the moment.

Incidentally, Friday night was the first night since 30th July (2017) where all five a/c diagrams were 92-hauled:

1S25 - 010
1S26 - 044
1M11 - 018
1M16 - 033
Carstairs - 043

...bit more info - 92010 has worked every single night (without any noticeable issues if I recall correctly) since 11th Dec, except for the two nights either side of Christmas when it was stopped for a routine exam. The majority of these have been "main" Euston-Edinburgh/Glasgow (or vice versa) runs.

Indeed, it was the one on my recent sleeper.
And it made up time for an early arrival, despite being considerably late at one point. I thought it must have been something more exotic at the front, but no!

I'm confused... there is nothing more exotic than a Class 92 (except maybe one in freight livery...) ;):D
