Another landslip on the quarry line today. Thinking about it, wouldn't it be better to do away with the centre ridge between the lines as this visually appears to be the biggest source of problems. You would need to demolish two overbridges or leave the chalk ridge under those sections.

Been Fixed Now but all Victoria to Redhill trains are cancelled (as they can't get down Arun Valley) adding 30 minutes to Journey Times for changing at East Croydon

It looks like the old A24 rail bridge looking towards the South with Denne Park high ground in the back which as Richard says, is in Horsham and not Christs Hospital. Camera then pans to the East and the surface water would seem be trying to get to the River Arun which flows under the railway further to the east, the other side of the Cricket Ground. Is the water flowing back off the line where the low embankment is onto the Cricket Ground?
Can't remember closures for flooding in that location before so perhaps something has affected the surface water flows.

On a separate issue I see the Portsmouth Direct has reopened after piling and making good a similar length of slipped embankment to that which has slid away at Ockley. The Liss slip also needed a road building for access but Southern say the Ockley slip due to required an access road etc will not be open now until February. I guess the Dorking Horsham line is not considered as important as the Portsmouth Direct so is not having the same resources put into its rectification by Network rail.

I think that the words "road building" send a wave of mass panic across Surrey residents, certainly a larger one than you would find in Hampshire.

Perhaps that has had an effect on how long it'd take to build the access road?

Going back to the Christ's Hospital flooding, it appears that when they fixed the problem with the railway, they broke the road.

The work on the Portsmouth Direct was much greater but assisted by relatively easy access at the site of three upside landslips adjacent to Stocklands Equine Veterinary Centre near Champneys Health Spar Liphook all access via road and across agricultural land. The one that appears to have required the most material and more complex access issues is on the down line the Liphook side of Warren Road under bridge Liss Forest where road access for large vehicles would be a major problem. Most of the material was transhipped from road to rail at Liss level crossing.
At Ockley access, other than by rail, will be difficult as the adjacent land is mostly the gardens of large country houses and there is no obvious, from Google Maps, route for temporary access, this will be one of the major issue in the timing of the reinstatement.
