02/09/1989 I would think the Double Fairlie would have been Merddyn Emrys. I believe it was the only operational DF at that time (unless anyone can confirm otherwise).
Thanks, I have now found another photo which confirms this.
16th September 1995
By this time, I was down to doing next to nothing on the rails my last outing prior to this had been 12 months before), and this ultimately proved to be my final bash, well until 37's appeared in Cumbria 20 years later!
1564xx Barrow in Furness - Preston
37408 Preston – Prestatyn (This was a great train for getting to North Wales the 'proper' way. I think it went over to a 156 from 1996!)
37414 Prestatyn – Crewe
At this point of the day my records end, but I do know that I took the 09:20 Weymouth to Liverpool (478xx) into its destination presumably from Crewe, and also the 12:02 Paignton to Liverpool (possibly something sparky?) as one of the window labels from both these services are "preserved" in my collection!
From there it would be some form of unit Liverpool to Preston, the Preston to Barrow and the end.
