Thanks, that pretty much confirms my thoughts/worries.Patchy, and it can differ between the two sets of the train. On Saturday neither portion received the advertised offering, however one set received an at seat service of cold sandwiches, snacks and alcohol and the other portion were denied any alcohol as apparently it was against policy to serve it… other passengers have been directed to the shop to claim their complementaries.
I think you’d be lucky to get the full advertised catering offer, but I’ve seen evidence that some passengers have actually received that.
You’ll probably get a table to yourself in Standard though so maybe just save £23 and buy some decent food and drink instead.
I do actually have a forward facing window table seat booked for both legs so buying my own food and drink does sound like the safer option.
I see the 0923 ex Carlisle today is a single 5 car unit (805012) and departed Carlisle 22 down (Possibly held due to the 0910 arrival from Glasgow arriving 28 down?)
