I can see why it’s so complicated for payroll. It will end up as a slightly different amount for everyone, even if they’ve done no rest day work, due to differences in the amount of non voluntary overtime worked with the normal roster.
We’ve been told our place may need to pay it in two instalments: one for base salary in October, one for overtime and sundries to be paid in November, all depending on how payroll manage to cope.
60% marginal tax rate is going to be an issue for overtime junkies, especially those at higher paying TOCs, so consider additional BRASS contributions this year….
