This may be a Stupid Answer do not know if selby is getting any of ex-Warrington Buses E200MMC to replace the MCV Evolutions at Selby
As far as I know, the 3 e200s that Arriva bought should replace 3 and the other 2 i assume are been replaced by minis or 1058-1060

Not sure of the specifics as much as you experts but I noticed today the 15:50 147 Wakefield - Pontefract was seemingly an Arriva bus from the North East
The only reason I noticed was on board all the advertising above the seats related to Durham and Middlesbrough!

Former Arriva NE 1327 - came from Durham depot last year
Another day, another example of Arriva Yorkshire's unremitting crapness. Even when they put on a lousy hourly service, they can't keep to that.
According to West Yorkshire Metro, the bus turned around before it got to the bus station - no one knows why.
Sending buses "not in service" seems to be the only thing they're good at.

Out of these newly acquired heaps, one retains debranded Cheshire Cat colours - 1083 was former 209 and the worst of the lot.
Limp mode permanently engaged and topping out at 35mph on a National Speed limit road. The tinny rasping engine note is imprinted on my brain now
I can also confirm no upgrade whatsoever has taken place of the interiors. They've been hammered to hell (and bodged repeatedly) in Warrington.
So, they're a perfect upgrade for what was once Britain's most profitable bus company.
By far the ones with the lowest, or non-existent standards for passengers. Hourly services turning up at least 40 minutes late with no explanation.
During visits to Warrington, their buses always seemed immaculately clean inside and out compared to Arriva’s and always on time. I’m very sad and disappointed to learn that their vehicles have gone to the lowest bidder only to avoid any kind of investment. I couldn’t think of a more unworthy operator.

Presumably because the existing fleet is totally knackered through years of underinvestment. Newest double decks in Yorkshire are 17 plates, plus some 69 plate Streetdecks although not all that order got completed (presumably issues with Wrightbus at the time). Some newer double decks have come from the Midlands on 72 plates. Other fleet upgrades included shipping out a load of 11 year old VDL/Wright Pulsars on 62 plates and replacing them with older 58/09 registered examples to meet Merseyside age requirements..Arriva UK Bus have also purchased Streetlite SK68TNF, E200 YY66PFV and E200MMC YX70OKF - presume these three are for Yorkshire also?

A lot of the smaller vehicles in the Arriva Yorkshire fleet are a batch of 14 plate ADL Enviro 200s. For the fleet size, the company hasn't reinvested in the fleet replacing older buses as they wear out. Fleet is generally tatty externally.
The problem isn't confined to Arriva Yorkshire - it's national with Arriva. Years of under investment in the fleet means it's got older and older. Then there's Arriva's requirement that financial targets are achieved before any new vehicle investment takes place and the expectation that if you introduce a fleet of new buses to a route, these generate increases in passenger numbers. Rather than any sort of structured plan to replace life expired buses in a fleet.

I think that @M803UYA is probably on the money.
The fact is that until 2015, Arriva had a fairly structured fleet replacement plan though it did always have the issue of rates of return on routes. However, DB was increasingly short of capital to spend across its empire, not least because it had to service a mountain of debt gained when it bought Schenker logistics (and associated purchases) and Arriva.
So since then, and compounded by Covid, new vehicle investment just plummeted. Funds for new vehicles are limited and concentrated on electrics, and so they are having to purchase mid-life or newer vehicles. That's really it.

True. The looming franchising process also means that there is less incentive to invest in new vehicles. We saw that in Manchester in the years before the launch of Bee Network.

I can't imagine the Streetlite would be for Yorkshire they don't have any.
Arriva Yorkshire also have a lot of elderly e200s 09 plates.
I do wonder with the Wakefield depot situation would mean less money for buses.

Arriva Yorkshire Pulsar 1447 has gone back to the NE.

Another ex-Warrington E200MMC has entered service, tracking as 1087 and has been repainted into Arriva livery.
I see as of a few weeks ago, Arriva have replaced the auto announcer software. Just one small snag: The place names are the place names of yesteryear on the 415 York-Selby!
For example Barlby Roundabout becomes 'Ardol Clock Tower', which was torn down a few years ago. Barlby High School, which is very much still there, becomes Police Station, which closed years ago. Riccall Store? That's now Costcutter, but is currently a Budgens having been a Nisa before that. Just what local history guide did they get these place names from?
