Evening i've heard that Arriva yorkshire are getting some ex Warringtons own buses E200MMCs. Is this true?

I've been informed that all of the Warrington Enviro 200MMCs have been purchased by ARRIVA Yorkshire (except the one that burnt out on loan to Whippet)
In addition they also have SN16OSA/OSB from JMB Travel of Newmains.

Interesting (and welcome) move. I wonder if Arriva are generally now looking into the newer used market to aid fleet replenishment.

Do we know if those ex Warrington will receive a full refurb? Hopefully banishing those hideous rear sofa seats in the process.

Service changes at Arriva Yorkshire from 23 February:

We are making some changes to our bus services across Yorkshire from 23 February 2025.

Key features of these changes include:
• There will be some minor timetable changes to services 51, 163, 255, 261 and 272. Some journeys will be retimed to account for the latest traffic levels.
• We have added a limited number of additional trips to services 163, 261 and 272 where we have been able to do so without increasing the number of drivers we need.
• Other bus operators will run WYCA tendered services 21/22 and 571 from 23 February. The contracts we hold for these services end on 23 February. As part of the usual process, WYCA have invited bids from bus operators to run these services and the successful bidders will provide the services from 23 February.

If it's the stuff that originally came from Liverpool that's being moved away from Leicester, I won't mind seeing the back of them.

Service changes at Arriva Yorkshire from 23 February:

Still no sign of filling the very inconvenient gap in the 232 at the end of the evening rush hour. This has existed since Yorkshire Traction ceased to be, and seems to only exist for the operational convenience of the Waterloo depot in Huddersfield- which no longer operates the route anyway as it's now under Transdev.
My friend who uses this route daily for his commute to Leeds, has to twiddle his thumbs in Wakefield for an hour because of this gap... meaning he doesn't get home til around 8pm. I predict another round of angry letters to Arriva and WYCA!

I was on one yesterday and all the windows were covered in a thick layer of dirt, to the extent you could barely see out to see if your stop was approaching!

Bus washing is generally worse in cold weather due to the risk of ice in freezing temperatures making passing buses through the washer potentially hazardous.

And in conditions like this, after an hour on the road the buses will be caked in grime again anyway and you'd never know they had been washed in a month.

It wasn’t on the 140/1 route was it? I thought about posting something and it would have been identical to yours. The other Arriva buses I saw at Castleford were nothing like as grubby, so perhaps this example slipped through the net.

That's the excuse that Arriva are sticking to anyway.

I was back in Yorkshire a couple of weeks ago. It was only Arriva buses which were filthy. The E200 I was on from Castleford to Glasshoughton was so bad I actually couldn't see where I was.

Maybe Castleford is just a lot colder than Keighley(!)

It wasn’t on the 140/1 route was it? I thought about posting something and it would have been identical to yours. The other Arriva buses I saw at Castleford were nothing like as grubby, so perhaps this example slipped through the net.

I noticed it on the 189 but funnily enough was on a 141 this morning and the exact same! (Thankfully they do seem to still be able to work out how to chuck a bit of water on the windscreen or we may be in trouble!)

Made the mistake of trying to perform a lunchtime errand using the Arriva Yorkshire bus.

Needless to say, the next bus back was cancelled, so that's immediately an extra twentyfive minutes out of my day.

Get to the stop with the following bus showing 8 minutes on the display. This ticks down to four minutes, taking a lot longer than 4 minutes difference.

I look away for another couple of minutes, then look up and it's gone back to six minutes. This bus then goes to due and dissappears.

Next bus showing is a time, but the bus eventually turns up.

When the bus does turn up, its a teeny-tiny toy town bus with everyone squashed on.

Overall, it turned out to be about three quarters of an hour out of mg working day that I have to make up.

More e400mmcs due from Leicester this weekend to replace 5 B7RLEs with more buses coming later on.

E200MMCs not heading to Hecky now due to capacity issues on their routes there going to another depot, my bet is either Dewsbury or Castleford.

SN16OSA/OSB and YY15 NHU are for Selby, believe they are replacing some of the MCV Evolutions.

I believe Arriva are now trying to standardise the fleet with new buses and get rid of the older ones as well.

1476 is waiting for a new engine as well and sat at Castleford.
