New E200 MMC with 6.7L engines which are arriving in the next few weeks.
Replacing double decks with singles then?

Under Arriva, the Chester to Wrexham route has gone from Leyland Olympians to new Volvo Olympians, then to Darts SLFs and then Pulsars (albeit on a 12 min frequency) before the refurbed Sapphire e400s and then the e400 city's.Replacing double decks with singles then?
Possibly not getting as much revenue as the route was when they were ordered?Under Arriva, the Chester to Wrexham route has gone from Leyland Olympians to new Volvo Olympians, then to Darts SLFs and then Pulsars (albeit on a 12 min frequency) before the refurbed Sapphire e400s and then the e400 city's.
Seems odd to think that those city's are now 9 years old. However, I digress....![]()

Who can say but what we do know is that after a protracted period of limited investment under DB ownership, Arriva are now investing in their operations. Not before time!Using that as a rough guide, we should see it go back to deckers in a few years then!
I wonder what their replacing at Milton Keynes?
hopefully Arriva will match their investment with promoting their services and we'll see the end of ongoing retrenchment and service cutsWho can say but what we do know is that after a protracted period of limited investment under DB ownership, Arriva are now investing in their operations. It’s real. With all of our deckers being at Silverstone and us being a bus down due to a breakdown last night, it’s the only choice. As we have only 3 coaches out on X6s on a Saturday. Is 7102 really on 158 or is it just a mistrack?
Not ideal although I await the day an electric decker goes on the 158It’s real. With all of our deckers being at Silverstone and us being a bus down due to a breakdown last night, it’s the only choice. As we have only 3 coaches out on X6s on a Saturday.
and the many singles that will be released when Thurmaston get their fleet of GB Kites later this year. There will soon be plenty of super buses for many depots. The 26 Enviro 200MMCs for Derby, will allow for the cascade of the VDLs.
Wow! Will have to go and see that later. Is 7102 really on 158 or is it just a mistrack?
It has happened before! It was for a few trips in the evening a few months back now.Not ideal although I await the day an electric decker goes on the 158![]()
Why 158 over X84, would have thought the X84 would have been more suitable given the limited stop nature and several lengthy bits of fast running? It’s real. I wouldn't describe the X84 as a limited-stop service. I just checked the route on Bustimes: apart from where it runs along the middle of Narborough Road South instead of along the side roads on either side, the only stop en route that it seems to skip is Opposite Parkend in Brownsover. Why 158 over X84, would have thought the X84 would have been more suitable given the limited stop nature and several lengthy bits of fast running?
Only the section between Leicester and Fosse Park is limited stops.I wouldn't describe the X84 as a limited-stop service. Is that from September this year ?hopperbus contract has been won by NCT, have a feeling it’s to do with using electric vehicles. No official details as of yet but announcements will come in due course
*IF* the 9 buses used on the hopper network did stay at Derby it would allow most of the geminis to be withdrawn or reallocated elsewhere. Not surprised and share the same opinion.
Let's hope the existing fleet stay in Derby rather than getting sent to other places because some of the Gemini are really starting to struggle now and there are other routes which would welcome increased capacities.
Is there a source for this?hopperbus contract has been won by NCT, have a feeling it’s to do with using electric vehicles. No official details as of yet but announcements will come in due course
I’d assume so.Is that from September this year ?
yeah can’t image the Volvos being sent onwards… although they’ll probably grace Tamworth.*IF* the 9 buses used on the hopper network did stay at Derby it would allow most of the geminis to be withdrawn or reallocated elsewhere.
no, just that the contract has been lost to NCT.Any more information?
management at Derby. Official announcements will come soon.Is there a source for this?
It could even be 26 new Enviros.. I liked the Pulsars.Given Derby has circa 30 pulsars and will be receiving 25 new Enviro’s, could this mean that there may be additional deckers replacing the remaining 5 or so Pulsars?
