Personally think Evora's would be worth waiting for, especially for x38. Things change. There is a lot of uncertainty due to franchising, and reluctance to invest in vehicles without funding towards it.

Think all 4 of the YX17 e400 deckers are now in use at Derby (4547/8/9/51). What happened to 4550, I assume there was one?
From memory, Leicester never got 4550 as the bus it was going to be swapped with was scrapped instead.

I wonder what the long term plan is for the Gemini’s?
Replacement eventually they'll be displaced by newer stock, the incoming ones are replacing existing withdrawals.
They give the impression they will last for tears, given some tender loving care.
A few are beginning to crack, 4216/21 are examples of components going that were worth more than the bus. So im assuming over the next couple of months any major breaks will result in scrap.

However being euro6 they could see use with other depots, dont think they'd survive any high demanding routes though.. theyve definitely grown acustom to tootling round Alvaston & Sinfin.

1's from City via railway station to Alvaston and 1B Boulton moor (via Alvaston). Also the 38 sinfin if a enviro 400 is off

Thanks, from memory, is the Alvaston route the route the Geminis have been on since new?

What happened to the 'Sapphire' branding? Has it been quietly dropped now?

I believe this is the case.

New buses aren't being delivered in the Sapphire livery, but are often ordered to a very similar specification, meaning that buses like the Wright Streetdeck Electroliners that have been delivered to Leicester are Sapphire buses in all but name.

Many of the passenger features pioneered by the Sapphire brand, such as USB sockets, are either a largely standard feature on modern buses, or, in the case of next-stop announcements, are now mandatory.

Moreover, a substantial number of buses previously delivered in or repainted into the Sapphire version of the Journey Mark livery have been repainted into the regular version of the Journey Mark livery. On other older Sapphire buses, the features that were promoted as being distinct to the brand are sometimes defunct altogether!

Yes, since 2022 Arriva has been quietly phasing out the Sapphire branding. From my understanding they felt that the "tiered" service caused confusion and some Sapphire buses were going round with a less luxurious feel than some of the non-sapphire branded buses. Pretty much all the 'perks' for using Sapphire had also been rolled out to most buses like USB, next stop announcements, eleather seats etc. Wifi was previously a perk but that has since been dropped from all Arriva services.

It's a shame as I liked the Sapphire (and Stagecoach's Gold offering) as a way of making a route more prestige, but in honesty by the end some of the Sapphire buses were so tatty.

with the E400 mmc’s replacing 4216 and 4221, are there any more due? Derby had 5 ex-Yorkshire E400’s at one point, so that would leave 3 buses yet to be replaced?

It was very rare if the 5 ex Yorkshire E400s were in service at the same time. Service revisions may reduce the PVR, but on route 1, VDL single deckers may deputise.

Withdrawn at Tamworth (from bus times info) is the Cotswold liveried VDL Pulsar 3734 (CX58FZK).

The last remaining E300 (3583 - CX58EVU) now has an expired MOT and likely to be withdrawn given the Versa fleet movements from Shrewsbury.

I noticed today that the 3 x Merseyside 2009 Enviro 400s are still pootling around in Leicester seemingly on the Oadby routes - I'm surprised they've not been moved on considering we lost our 64 plate buses.

I wonder if 4426 is withdrawn: it's taxed until next February but has no MOT.

(I must say that the mileage figures for its previous MOTs are exceedingly erratic!)
