Until I see the pic I'm not commenting, but I've seen some sights on stations and nights out that are probably a whole lot worse.

I'm not sure what the problem is here, aside from me thinking that the OP is trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Some of my ex colleagues used to buy PlayBoy magazine, did that make them immoral people? The fact is these two young ladies were posing in provocative gear and to expect NO pictures to be taken of them is unrealistic. I, myself, think they add a splash of colour although I understand why people would say how they've dressed is in bad taste. That, however, is a totally separate issue from the issue of whether what they were doing is moral/immoral.

The OP wasn't really the problem, he set out an opinion and largely left it at that after he became aware it was causing an issue.

The OP is entitled to hold those views and entitled to express. But he should not be surprised or upset when others disagree and express their own views.

As to his age, well, I would not be surprised if his views on such things change in the enxt few years...

I;m a bit confused myself as to whether the objection was to the picture bing on a rail forum, in a section which is presumably about railway photography, or the morality of anyone dressing in such a manner or even about the morals of a person taking photos of someone dressed like that?

Or Swansea! No matter what a person's own beliefs and morals are, it's undeniable that sex is used a lot in the modern world, advertising, music, TV and cinema all contain far more images of scantily clad males and females than ever before.

I haven't seen the picture, but I'm quite sure these girls weren't forced to dress the way they did at gunpoint or anything. While of course some women find such outfits degrading, others are ambivalent and some even find them empowering.

As I say, I haven't seen the picture so I can't judge but, from other people's comments, I'm quite sure I've seen far "worse".

That was kind of the point of my reaction. We had this whole huge thread that some (well someone) got quite heated about and it was over one picture that wasn't any worse than you can see on advertising boards. I'll say it again, wow.

The photo is fine nothing wrong with it and a good one Ian.

As i mentioned i see 16yr olds dressed miles worse then that and young women more my age dressed worse when out at night, just looking through some of my female friends pictures most the stuff would be better in the bedroom then out in public.

Also that TV, Music Videos and adverts and magazines have massivly more worse things.

Indeed.

Can I suggest now that if that picture did cause offence, to not go anywhere near a city centre, refrain from buying the majority of magazines and newspapers (even the more upmarket ones can have the odd racy picture), keep away from schools (even the younger ones now wear belts instead of a skirt) and unplug the tv and the internet.

Recently, attitudes on here have gone completely down the pan, especially from users who want to have an opinion, but run from or completely ignore any opposing view because it doesn't suit them. Whether that is in this thread for all to see, or other threads by way of religion and effectively telling members not to speak or reply depending on which religious preference they have. It's attitudes like this that offend me much more than the picture in question.

Easiest course of action would have been to completely ignore the picture if you don't like it and have a private word with a moderator to put your views across rather than force this load of rubbish on to everyone. If the moderators then rightly decided that the picture was fine, then tough titty. (Pun intended)

Reading between the lines, I don't think the picture would've been removed had Ian not requested it. I don't believe the mods had any objections.

Exactly, none of the mods had an objection and if they did, they would not have put the picture in.

And to answer ur question TBW, what would it have been like if I had won that competition? People would have been bitching and moaning that I would have won the competition because of the "sex appeal" aspect.

You saw it yourself that some people were turning down my pic in favour of another pic and some people didn't even mention it all but, just as in real life, sometimes the majority is ruled by the minority.

Sure, might have been my best shot at winning POTW but if people are going to make a mountain out of a molehill about a bit of fun, you have to ask, is it worth the hassle? I would rather win with a decent pic of a decent subject than have someone criticise because I chose to put a pic of two WCRC girls in schoolgirl outfits.

I've made my bed and now, gotta lie in it, even though it is lumpy and the mattress has springs poking out

One extra point on this. Different people find different things sexy. Some call tartan skirts sexy, whereas some may find a Victorian costume sexy.
So, if this picture is immoral, could you say the same about someone dressed head to toe in a victorian costume with no skin showing whatsoever? Afterall, if different people can find both pictures sexy, then both can be deemed immoral. So where do we stop? Surely now we have to say everything is immoral?

Well I posted yesterday.

I have not a problem with it. I can`t understand anyone whatever age that does. My sons said "nice pair of legs" but it did not have them lusting over it and they are both in their 20`s.

I do think its a bit odd the debate is still going on though.

It's his decision at the end of the day. He doesn't have to 'pander' to anyone.
